Hello ,
Last week was a great return to face-to-face classes and I just want to thank everyone for being respectful and considerate, wearing masks on entry and exit to the venues, socially distancing, and exercising enthusiastically in our classes. It was great to see everyone and Mary, Jenny and Traudi send their thanks and love to everyone attending.
Also, thank you to those using the Catchup System and registering absence even if not wanting to attend a catch up class themselves … This helps everyone who attends our classes to make sure that no-one has to miss out on their Pilates practice.
My 3 Cs Programme
I am very excited to be telling you about my 3 Cs Programme which starts on 13th November. This will be a 6 week programme to take you up to Christmas aiming to invest time in your own self-care as we move through this busy time. The programme will include
- A specific Pilates workout each week, which will be additional to the regular online timetable. These workouts will focus on different areas of our physical health, and some sessions will include props. The sessions will be recorded not live so you can do them at any time to suit your own timetable
- A Self-Care session focusing on our mindset to help us manage the festive period
- Nutritional and diet tips to help maintain energy levels.
If you are interested in joining this programme, you can let me know by replying to this email. The programme is FREE to jtp.zone members and just £30 if you aren’t a member.

A quick little mobility exercise that can easily be fitted into your day, aimed at helping with movement around the thoracic spine.
If you feel a little bit stiff when you are turning around to see something or speak to someone, or you play a sport and just feel your mobility to move feels a bit ‘stuck’ or ‘stiff’ it is most likely to be coming from your thoracic spine, so this little exercise will help.
Keep away from pain, and work at the appropriate level for your body.
Nothing is either good or bad, but thinking makes it so
William Shakespeare
I love this quote, and referenced it in this week’s self-care session on Saturday where we were talking about adaptation and the methods to use to try and adapt our thoughts and feelings, beliefs and behaviour.
In the same way that I will adapt a physical exercise to create a positive experience of that movement, we can use the same principle to help with our mindset. By practising the adaptation the exercise becomes easier, and more natural to us, and this is the same for our mindset — by adapting the way we think and
by practicing this adaptation we can start to change our mindset.
Sometimes our thoughts can send us into a spiral of fear, we become fortune tellers of what might happen and worry. In the session on Saturday we talked about what we can do to stop this from happening.
We can use what ifs. So, instead of thinking I can’t do it we can ask what if I can do it?
As soon as we start to practice the what ifs it tips the balance and perspective of our thinking, feelings, beliefs and behaviours.
By using the what ifs with your thoughts, you will stop the spiralling into fear, and feel more in control and have better perspective.
Have a great week, and keep moving...
Jane xx
