One of my aims with the Move More in May programme, and — actually — one of my aims with everything I do within the JTP family, is to motivate and encourage you to move so that you live a healthier, active life.
In order for us to move more or engage in exercise regularly we have to create routines, and change lifestyle habits. Little and often is the secret to success in creating good habits. Which is why I created a programme with short workouts, that wouldn’t require giving too much time, but that could be fitted in fairly easily in the day.
Another reason that people often don’t adhere to regular exercise is because life gets in the way — which is why I did the classes early in the morning, hopefully before the day really gets started and before anything can get in your way.
Repetition gives a new routine power — and once we start to feel powerful this helps our motivation to continue.
Results also give us the motivation we need to keep going, and regularity gives results.
Basically the drip, drip effect, little and often, is better than a bigger, but less frequent push. It was definitely the belief of Joseph Pilates who repeatedly spoke about regularity, routine, less is more, in that 10 minutes a day is better than 1 hour a week. It is this that transforms health.
The Move More in May programme will remain available on the members website for the next month.
