While I have been off on my week free of teaching live, I signed up to an exercise programme with another Coach who I have known and worked with over the years — in fact she originally inspired me to become a Fitness Coach, almost 30 years ago … which I find a struggle to believe now — I must have just been a child!!! (Yeah? In yer dreams... — Keith)
It reminded me of how important it is that even Coaches need a Coach. Doing this gave me some time to assess my own exercise programme, to regain some motivation — not to teach — but motivation to focus on my own health, and also to make me feel a bit better about myself.
It definitely worked, as after just 5 days of doing her short workouts and listening to her philosophy and thoughts about fitness, it has really given me the boost I needed.
I think most of us are great at helping and caring for others, advising, supporting and encouraging, and often this can be at the expense of ourselves. And this brings me back to previous posts I have done about continuously emptying your bucket of love and care and support, without occasionally topping it up.
It is so easy to forget about ourselves, either by not exercising, not eating well, not taking time out, until we hit a wall, or we discover our bucket is empty.
After setting my intention to do 15 minutes of exercise every day, just for me, going for a walk, eating well, drinking lots of water, doing one thing each day that I love for just 5 days, my energy levels have returned, I feel more relaxed, I feel restored. My bucket is completely full and I am ready.
The key is to keep these healthy habits going, and as my Coach calls it habit stacking and once they become a routine, that routine is going to feed me and serve me well.
Don’t let your bucket run dry, let's start to stack those healthy habits without further delay.
Have a great week folks,
with Love,
Jane xx
