I just want to refer back to what I said above about trying to carry on even when not feeling 100%.
At the start of October, I had some brilliant ideas about the extra classes I wanted to give you online as we headed towards Christmas. I wanted to bring a more mindful Pilates class, which I did manage to
do during October. Also, I wanted to add a specific Stretch class and had plans to trial this in November, and I definitely wanted to bring something special for December.
However, what I have come to
realise is that sometimes I can’t do everything … and one of the JTP Family reminded me in the week — what would I say to someone in this situation — and of course I would say stop worrying about it, what you are doing is enough, take a step back and give yourself some time and space to re-energise.
With the added work being done on the house, something I haven’t really experienced before, I am surprised at the effect that has had on my energy levels. And by the end of this week, my body ached, my cough and cold just weren’t getting better, and my energy levels were just depleted.
So thinking about adding more into my life just felt impossible.
Now I am NOT telling you this to get sympathy, I am NOT sharing this as an excuse, but I AM sharing this to help anyone else who might have the same feelings at the moment. Maybe you are trying to do everything for everyone and you are trying to meet impossible deadlines. Maybe like me you are having work done at your home, and you want everything to be perfect for Christmas. And all of
this is making you feel out of control, overwhelmed, irritable, drained, resentful, unwell.
Something has to give … so don’t let it be your health and wellness. Schedule some time for rest into your week, proper time, when you aren’t doing anything, you
are just letting yourself be.
I know I will be back doing on Monday, teaching live online and face-to-face, so enjoy the rest of the weekend, and I look forward to seeing you there.
Stay well folks, have a great week.
