Part of my Mindful Pilates Retreat days was to look at our ‘Life Pie’ with the aim to be living a more conscious
life.
Â
The Life Pie is a system designed to help people with overwhelm, it can be used to set weekly goals or intentions, and achieve more balance in a busy life. The life pie can be a great tool to help you get clarity in areas of life that might be causing you
challenges at the moment, it can also help you to be more productive — particularly if, like me, you can procrastinate if things don’t ‘float your boat’. But the important thing is the Life Pie can help to bring balance in different areas of your life that you might feel isn’t happening right now. It may help you take actions, make decisions, give you a plan, and help support you with change. It may help to identify things that aren’t happening, things that you want out of life that seem to be
unobtainable, passing you by, or feel unachievable. OR it may help you to identify what is good, help you to appreciate and be grateful for what is working and what feels in balance right at this moment in time.Â
Â
The 8 sections
are:Â
- MoneyÂ
- RelationshipsÂ
- Time OutÂ
- Adventure
- Passion ProjectsÂ
- Health and Wellness
- Family and Friends
- Work (Things that have to be done)Â
Â
All you need to do is find a piece of A4 paper, draw a big circle to fill the page, and divide into 8 sections, labelling each section as above. You may feel that the 8 sections don’t apply to you, but use them as a reference, because generally they will cover most areas of life.
Â
To get you using your Life Pie, and without overthinking, I would like you to go around your pie and rate it out of 10, 10 being the optimum score, go on instinct rather than over-analysing. Remember there is no right or wrong as this just applies to you, your thoughts, how you are feeling, and you could have more than one section with the
same score, and you may feel that some sections of the pie overlap, and thats fine.Â
Â
Once you have done this you can start to look at those areas with a low score and what you feel would improve that
score, why did it come up short. Then look at those areas that scored highly, why did it score highly.Â
Â
The next step is to then take action so that you can improve the low score sections or fully
appreciate the high scoring sections and bring some of that over into the rest of your life pie.Â
Â
This is just the start of using your Life Pie to help live a more conscious life If it has made you
curious as to how you can utilise this more, let me know.Â
