Brrr … as I sit and write this week’s Newsletter it's a little bit chilly out there, so I have a hot cuppa by my side and a mince pie waiting to be munched…!

I hope you have had a good week and you are getting everything sorted for your Christmas. After a full day shopping on Friday one of the shop assistants said to me that she kept waking up in the middle of the night  thinking about what she still had to do. After a bit of chat, we both came to the conclusion that did it really matter if everything was perfect? … and the answer is no, it doesn’t, as long as everyone is healthy and enjoying being together. So just in case your sleep is being interrupted by thoughts of getting a perfect Christmas, remember that everything doesn’t have to be perfect for people to enjoy themselves, mostly it's about being together with the people you love, and feeling happy and healthy.

This week I am sharing two moves for the pelvis to help with mobility and realignment. If your lower back feels tight and stiff these two exercises will help to get things moving again and releasing any tightness in the mid-spine. Always keep away from pain and work appropriately for your body.

I saw an article in the week which was describing an elderly lady who had lost her sight and was having to move into a care home. Her daughter took her in to the home and found her room, and even before she had time for a description of the room, her Mother said I love it, I’m going to be really happy here!. 

The daughter said, but Mum I haven’t even described it to you yet.

Her Mum said You don’t have to, I have made my mind up I am going to be happy here.

To quote Abraham Lincoln Most folks are about as happy as they make their minds up to be, and I guess that the lady in the story had just made her decision that no matter what, she was going to be fine. 

Happiness comes in many different forms, everyone has their own thoughts about happiness and what makes them happy, and while we can’t always choose everything that happens to us, we can choose how to respond, and no matter what happens, our response is within our control. When we start to truly accept and live in the here and now. that's when we can hit the happiness response. 

Remember — the past is history, the future is a mystery, here and now is the present. Is that why its called present? Being in the present moment is the gift.
