What happens when we really open our eyes and observe what is around us?
If we take the time to really open our eyes and notice what we see, it can really enhance our awareness and enrich our lives.
It can be as simple as when out for a walk, really taking in our surroundings and the environment, observing the sky, the trees,
noticing the colours … I am always tempted to get my phone out and take a photo and then move on. But I have been doing this less and less and simply taking more time to acknowledge the natural beauty that surrounds us. It feels like I appreciate it more, I become more mindful and more present in the moment, in the here and now, and this always makes me feel more relaxed and recharged.
There is scientific research that shows that being more observant helps our mental capacity,
and keeps us sharp and engaged.
So next time you find yourself out for a walk, rather than just looking at the trees, start to notice the different shape of the trees, the leaves, the colours, the patterns they make against the sky, notice the detail, take more time and become more observant, and feel the increased benefit of your walk. I promise you will start to see things you haven’t noticed before.
Have a great week practising being more
observant. Keep moving and keep feeling good!
With love,
Jane xx
