Hi
Just a brief newsletter this week as we head towards Easter weekend.
|
Firstly, don't forget my Juicing Event on Wednesday 1st April, and if you have booked your space — please don't forget to turn up!
If you haven't booked your space I think there are just a couple of places left... So what are you waiting for? Come along and find out all the benefits of juicing from our local expert Mairi Taylor of FAB Fitness.
It's a 7.30pm start, and being held at our favourite venue, Rosebery Street Medical Centre, Loughborough, on Wednesday 1st April.
And, no, it isn't an APRIL FOOL — so don't miss
out!
To fully benefit from your Pilates exercises and programmes, it is essential
that you are fully aware of how to find your neutral spine. To stand or lie in a neutral position means that all the joints are in neutral alignment, including the spine and the pelvis.
It is when we exercise or go about our daily tasks with our bodies out of the neutral position, that we run the risk of
creating muscle imbalances and excessive strain upon certain joints such as the spine, or the hips, or the knees.
Neutral spine is the starting point for all of our Pilates exercises, and this week's Exercise Of The Week — Single Leg Stretch — is no exception. In the video I explain how to find your neutral
spine and pelvis, particularly useful if you are experiencing a clunk in the hip with movement.
Practice this routine daily and really make a mental note about how this feels in the back, and remember to check your neutral spine
position throughout. As with all my exercises choose the appropriate level for your body.
Don't Worry. Be
Happy...If like me, on the face of it you're easy going but inwardly you're a bit of a worrier, this might help:
If you like James Corden
then you should watch the video below. Oh, and err yes, David Beckham is in his underpants too...
We hear it lots and people will tell you that having a laugh is good for you. There are even laughter classes and
laughter clinics these days to encourage us to use those laughter muscles.
Well it is true! Laughter IS good for you. And here are some of the facts about laughing and how it can help us:
- it has been proven time and time again that laughter stimulates the immune system
- it stimulates breathing which in turn oxygenates the body
- laughing uses almost all of our muscles
- by its very nature laughing invites us to look at things in a different light
So here is my tip for you this week — look for the funny side of (almost) every situation, don't be
afraid to have a really good laugh out loud, download a clip from your favourite comedy, or clip of your favourite comedian — keep it and watch it lots, particularly when feeling a bit fed up, spend time with people who make you laugh.
Laughter is a powerful medicine...
So have a great week folks, stay fit, happy and healthy and keep moving freely.

Keith and the team xxx
