Our Week

Hello Everyone

Hi

Here we are heading into our Autumn term and classes have re-started.
So we are back onto our Pilates programmes, and I want to welcome all new people to our classes and to this newsletter, whether you are in our Absolute Beginners groups or our Improvers groups.

Just to remind all our Absolute Beginners, once you have joined us Keith will send you a link to the online videos that support your class each week. This is to enable you to practise the basics you will be covering in your class.

Your instructors will also have told you about the ebook which also supports your programme. Again, once you've joined us this is free for you. You can then read it on your computer, tablet or smartphone.

We also have hard copies of this book available to buy if that is how you prefer to work (as we know that reading on-screen doesn't suit everybody). The book provides instruction and photographs of the exercises — all of which are covered by your Instructor in your  classes.  Your Instructor will have a copy of the book for you to see, and can take your orders in your class this week.

We really do feel passionately about our Pilates programmes, and we know that to fully benefit from Pilates the foundation exercises are vital which is why we are so fully committed to provide you with as much access as possible to aid your progression. With this in mind, our team of Absolute Beginners Instructors: Helen, Caroline and Jenny will be teaching full and comprehensive classes, the additional material is to aid you with the basics and foundations that support all Pilates exercises.

Celebration
I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has either returned to our new classes, or  who is now coming to our classes for the very first time.

Pilates really makes a difference and our programmes are all about helping you make that difference, because we care.

So congratulations and welcome.

Exercise Of The Week
This week I am sending the link to show a Single Leg Stretch.

In the video I provide modifications in this exercise from an Absolute Beginners level progressing to an Improvers level.

The Single Leg Stretch is a great exercise for strengthening our abdominals, our pecs, and our hip flexors whilst providing a stretch for our gluteals and our tibialis anterior (down the front of our shins). The muscles working to stabilise our body are the Transverse Abdominus and our deltoids (shoulders). So there is lots going on.

Remember to work at the appropriate level for your body.

Your Whole Self
This week I want to talk about how focusing on our ‘non-physical world’ will help us with our ‘physical world’.

It's quite simple really, we may think something like “I want to eat more healthily” which is our non-physical world. Then we organise, plan our meals, buy the ingredients towards eating more healthily in our physical world. In other words our non-physical world can help us make our physical world better.

So this week try making a list of things that are currently in your non-physical world, then start to make plans which will make your list become your physical world. We should spend more time focusing on our non-physical world because it is this world which makes us feel good, and when we feel good we make things happen.

Make the list and then feel the magic start to happen.

Keith Here...
Unbelievably, not all of our clients read the hallowed pages of this very Newsletter!!! Quite a shock, isn't it?

Even more unbelievably, some of you aren't even subscribed to receive it!!!!

As regular readers will know, the Newsletter is our primary means of getting news and information to you all about classes, events, snippets of things and generally everything we do, so the fact that not all of you read it is disappointing to us — and we want to do something about that.

So can I ask all of you good people who do read it to pass on to anyone who will listen to you in class how good it is? Just walk up to anyone in your class and ask them do they read the Newsletter. If nothing else, ice may be broken... ;-)

If enough of you evangelists sing the Newsletter's praises to enough people in class, then hopefully the word will get spread around,  the non-readers will get the message, subscribe, and start to read it. Tell them that reading the Newsletter will make Keith a Happy Bunny...

If they want to know how to subscribe to it, just tell them to go to the website and fill their details into the box at the top of the page. It's that simple.

We can't do that for them on their behalf. For obvious data protection purposes, they have to do it themselves. But it's as simple as it can possibly be and they just need the impetus to do it — you, telling absolutely everyone how necessary a read it is every week.

Thanks to one and all of you — heretofore know as Keith's Disciples — for spreading the word.

Have a great week folks, stay fit, happy and healthy and keep moving freely.

The Important Stuff At The End
Book Your Catchup Here...
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead, all you need to do is follow this link to book your Catchup

In the form you'll find there, simply tell us which exact class you are going to miss, as well as as many alternatives for Catchups as possible. If you are looking for alternative classes to your own, remember that all our classes are listed on the website, under the Appointments & Classes tab.

Also, we can offer an alternative to matwork Catchups, in that if you have two Catchup classes, you can exchange these for a single Reformer class as your Catchup — if there is space. You need to check this with us first though.
