Our Week

Hello Everyone

Hi

This week has been eventful because as well as teaching, I was invited to speak at a workshop for professional fitness and wellbeing instructors on Thursday.
The room was full of people who have just started in the industry or who have been in the industry for a long time, but looking for motivation and inspiration either because it is all brand new, or because they are feeling a bit lost and isolated after years of being on their own and working alone.

It can be an isolating experience in the fitness world, because bizarrely although we spend a lot of time with people, the work itself is about being on your own, relying on yourself and giving to others.

I consider myself very lucky now as I do have a smashing team around me, very supportive, and very like-minded people. All of us care so much about what we do and what we can do for those who come to our classes and our studio sessions, so it makes it very special for me that I now have people who I can share this with.

I have spent many years being on my own though, and ultimately my passion about what I do has kept me going, but also seeing the results of working with my classes and my studio clients is what motivates and inspires me. I felt honoured to have the opportunity to pass this on and share what it is I love about what I do…

Ultimately it's about working with you and caring about you… Yes you, and you, and you, and you, and...

Exercise Of The Week
This week I am showing the Push Up, together with a few modifications.

I am using this in my group classes at the moment, as part of a roll down sequence, so I show a break down of the push up, it is a great exercise for strengthening our chest, arms, shoulders, upper back and of course our CORE.

As with all our exercises, practice at the appropriate level for your body.

Your Whole Self
My sister is going through a scary time at the moment. She has been diagnosed with cancer and they are currently treating it with chemotherapy. I sometimes talk about being in the scary s..t zone, and she definitely is in that zone at the moment.

I have posted this video before, and I am not trivialising anything by posting this, but I want to send everyone who may be currently in a scary place in their lives some brave energy. So click on the picture below, and take a look at the video it's linked too, and feel inspired:

Keith Here...
A very big welcome to all our new class members — we have several new Absolute Beginners Courses that have started in Hathern and Rempstone, as well as lots of new members to existing Improvers classes — and if this is your first Newsletter I just wanted to show you the ropes, so to speak.

Each week the Newsletter gives you several things:
  • an Exercise of the Week, with a link to a video of the exercise
  • details of any changes to our timetable of classes
  • a link to the Catchup form on the website, for booking a Catchup class in case you can't make any particular class of your course
  • news about us, special events, people in our Team, and general interest items.

The Newsletter is our primary means of getting information out to you in a simple easy-to-read and organised format, so please make sure you read it every week.

Have a great week folks, stay fit, happy and healthy and keep moving freely.

The Important Stuff At The End
Book Your Catchup Here...
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead, all you need to do is follow this link to book your Catchup

In the form you'll find there, simply tell us which exact class you are going to miss, as well as as many alternatives for Catchups as possible. If you are looking for alternative classes to your own, remember that all our classes are listed on the website, under the Appointments & Classes tab.

Also, we can offer an alternative to matwork Catchups, in that if you have two Catchup classes, you can exchange these for a single Reformer class as your Catchup — if there is space. You need to check this with us first though.
