| Hello Everyone
Hi
Lots of you have been asking me if I am doing a Countdown to Christmas this year, my online programme which offers you motivation to exercise daily, eat healthily and get yourself to optimum health and fitness as you move towards Christmas.
|
So I am relaunching my programme today. It is a re-run of my successful programme of three years ago, with added workouts and additional up-dated ideas for healthy eating and bonus workouts,
Countdown to Christmas is a six week (that's
right, there's only six shopping weeks left till Christmas...!!!) programme containing 3 HIIT (ie, High Intensity Interval Training) workouts and 3 Pilates workouts, healthy eating recommendations and making the most of your body as we head towards the festive period. What's not to be excited about — getting fit and leaner before Christmas?
Each week in the programme you will receive a workout to do with me online, together with eating plans. The course takes you
right up to Christmas and beyond, so that indulging in a little extra over the festive period will not be a problem.
Keith has set up a new web page where you can find more information — just click here to see. The course costs just £25, and is perfect as things get busy and time becomes precious as
we head to the big day.
Once you've joined the programme, you just need a bit of space at home, and a set of hand weights that will challenge you. Each work out lasts approximately 10 minutes and I show you how to challenge your body without high impact, so we keep our joints safe.
Other News
Spare a kind thought for Caroline one of our team of instructors, who has
broken a rib and is therefore out of action and unable to teach for a while. I am sure you will all want to send her your best wishes and hope that she recovers quickly.
Finally, if you haven’t registered your interest for my free Neal’s Yard Remedies Christmas Party on 14 November, it is now too late — as I had to pre-book the refreshments by last weekend. I am really looking forward to the afternoon, and sampling the Neal's Yard Remedies products and finding out
more about what they offer. For all who have booked their place, I am looking forward to welcoming you to the event and introducing Jo Round, the Neal's Yard Remedies consultant. We will be emailing you directly with directions and any further information, so expect that email in the coming days...
This is the third and final part of my Exercise Of The Week Knee Strengthening programme, and this week it is
a Single Leg Stretch.
This is a regular favourite in our Pilates programmes, and the reason for this is because of all the benefits it provides for our body. It strengthens our abdominals, our shoulder stabilising muscles, our neck flexors, our obliques (sides), our quadriceps, and our quadratus lumborum (mid-back). It also lengthens our glutes and our hamstrings and our latissimus dorsi (our wings) — particularly
when performed at a more advanced level.
Try to maintain an even length on both sides of the body when switching from right to left leg, and work at an appropriate level for your body. The important thing for our knees with this exercise is the balance it provides for those muscles that support the knee joint at the front and at the back of the body — so if your knees are an area of concern this is the exercise for
you.
One of the great joys of my job is seeing and hearing about all your celebrations.
In this last week one of my long-term class participants celebrated her 80th birthday, while another was introducing a Pilates baby into the world...
So it is a big Happy Birthday to Tess and a big Congratulations and Welcome to Hayley and Nick’s new addition,
Connie. Fabulous.
Everyone who reads our Newsletter every week, will know that I am pretty consistent in offering suggestions
and advice about taking care of your health and wellbeing, so this week I want to share something with you that I do in order to prioritise my own health and wellbeing.
I am currently having sessions with an Emotional Freedom Therapist. I am doing this because I was feeling a high level of stress as a result of things that were happening within my family and
friends and their health. Plus I know that my role in life is to take care of people so in order for me to be able to do this I need to have optimum health myself.
My Emotional Freedom Therapy is my choice to help with my feelings about the challenges those who I love are facing right now. When I work with my Emotional Freedom Therapist she helps me to recognise
how I am truly feeling about things and helps me find ways of accepting and changing these feelings.
For example I was initially very angry about my sister getting cancer — again, having gone through it 15 years ago... I became angry about it inside. How dare it come back for her? Hadn’t she gone through enough already? Why her? Why our family again?
This anger was making me frustrated, sad, blaming, tired, and drained — all very negative. But if I was to be in a position to help my sister get through this I had to deal with the negativity that these feelings were creating.
Emotional Freedom Therapy enables me to work on these feelings between sessions, so I can be consistently helping myself, so that I can help my sister.
I suppose my point in sharing this with you is to say that it isn’t selfish to do things for yourself, or take time for yourself. We are not superhuman: if we want to find optimum
health and optimum wellbeing we have to invest in ourselves. Then everyone will benefit.
Countdown to
Christmas
Jane mentioned it earlier, but I wanted to follow up and give you lots more details on what the Countdown to Christmas programme is all about.
To get you into the new Christmas shape you've always wanted, the programme provides you with weekly combinations of 10 minutes of Party Frock Pilates routines, and 10 minutes of High
Intensity Interval Training (but with low impact) routines, healthy eating recipes, plus motivation from Jane herself to keep you going right up to Christmas Eve itself. You can do the routines as often as you want,
In the run-up to Christmas, we're all so frantically busy: rushing around trying to get our job done, plus Christmas shopping, cooking, partying — simply doing everything that gets thrown at you. Jane's Countdown
to Christmas programme allows you — in only a few minutes each day, to exercise and get yourself trim and fit — all in the comfort of your own home. The workouts are only 10 minutes long so really easy to fit in.
Whenever we've run a Countdown to Christmas programme in the past, we've had some phenomenal successes, loads of fun, and everyone has really enjoyed the workouts, nutritional advice and recipes throughout the six
weeks. It might just be what you need to shape up for Christmas, look great, move easily, and feel fantastic.
All you have to do is move the furniture back, run the week's video on your smartphone, tablet, or computer — and get going — right in your very own living room! In fact, many of the videos you'll see were actually recorded in our living room! Jane is really looking forward to seeing you
there.
Have a fantastic week folks, stay fit, happy and healthy, look, move and feel
better. Jane, Keith and the team xxxx

Book Your Catchup Here...
|
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another
class instead, all you need to do is follow this link to book your Catchup You can also find the link at the bottom of the website page.
In the form you'll find there, simply tell us which exact class you are going to miss, as well as as many alternatives for Catchups as possible. If you are looking for alternative classes to your own, remember that all our classes are listed on the website, under the Appointments & Classes tab. It is important to give as many alternatives as you can — if you only give one choice, there may be no space
for you.
Also, we can offer an alternative to matwork Catchups, in that if you have two Catchup classes, you can exchange these for a single Reformer class as your Catchup — if there is space. You need to check this with us first though.
