The Jane Thomas Pilates Newsletter
Hello ,

The two most recent additional and free treats I like to organise for the JTP family have been hugely successful.

I have been so impressed with the Neal's Yard Remedies Organics products I have decided to become a representative, so you will be able to purchase your favourites from me from now on — I will also keep you up to date with special offers and promotions so you don't miss out.

Secondly I don't think I have ever experienced such positive feedback from any of our special events as I have received this week following Philippa's Mindset Workshop. It seems to have resonated with everyone, and introducing some of what Philippa discussed into classes last week has helped.

So make sure you look out for further treats in the coming months and don't miss out — because they are free to all our class/studio participants.

Have a great week, look, move and feel good.

Exercise Of The Week

If you spend a big part of your day sitting, either at a desk or driving, or if you are looking to become more active in 2016, then this week's exercise is going to build mobility and strength for a key area of the body — the hips!

Our movement is driven from the hips, the psoas (which I have talked about previously) the gluteus maximus, which you know I am passionate about! And the areas I am focussing on this week the piriformis and the glute medius.

I am doing this side sequence in my classes at the moment so thought I would share this week. Work at the appropriate level for your body and try to do some every day this week.

Your Whole Self
At this time of year, everywhere we look — magazines, tv, radio, newspapers — are making us feel lazy and out of condition, they are making us feel guilty.

Guilty about not being active enough, guilty about eating the wrong kind of food...

However If we want to be successful at being more active and having a healthier lifestyle, guilt is not a good foundation for embarking on a new lifestyle choice.

Firstly, guilt is a negative emotion, and negative emotions do not get us results — they simply don’t move us forward. Guilt eats away at our energy levels: it doesn’t provide us with contentment or satisfaction; it makes us resentful — so instead of feeling like we ‘want’ to eat healthily and exercise we feel we ‘have’ to, resulting in a lack of motivation to keep going.

Guilt does not get us long term results. So let's rid ourselves of guilt...

Firstly throw away those magazines, stop listening to the news, decide for yourself what you want to change, and what your lifestyle goal will be, then set yourself a daily target which will help you to move a little closer towards achieving that goal.

Focus on what you want to achieve, and be happy with each and every step you take.

All matwork classes as well as Reformer classes are running as planned this week.

There is also an extra Reformer class planned on Thursday 21 January at 11.30am, so if you would like a free taster Reformer class get in touch. Also, anyone who has a backlog of Catchup classes to take may take a Reformer class here, in place of 2 matwork Catchups. This is a useful way to taste a Reformer class, to see what everyone who uses the Reformer is raving about — it really does boost your Pilates.
Booking A Catchup
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead, just follow the link to book it.

Simply tell us the class you will miss and —most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.

Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
