It's all about your core

The Jane Thomas Pilates Newsletter

So the first half of this long course of classes is coming to an end this week, as we take a short break from 15th February to 20th February inclusive. It seems to have flown by and — as instructors — we do need a couple of days to plan and prepare for the second half of the block and to give our minds and bodies a break from teaching. This ensures that we keep our energy levels up so that we can serve you better in your classes and sessions.

You can check out all of our class information and course dates on our website here — www.janethomaspilates.co.uk — however, I should point out that because we bring Pilates to your doorstep and use local venues, occasionally we have to make changes to our planned course dates due to venues altering our bookings. These changes are usually due to circumstances beyond our control, as we are at the mercy of venue organisers. When this happens we do always re-schedule these classes, so that you don’t miss out on your Pilates, but it does mean you have to check our weekly timetable provided at the bottom of this newsletter, and if you are unsure of any classes taking place you can text or email us to confirm.

Exercise Of The Week
There are two exercises this week to work on, in the one video. Both are aimed at stability for the pelvis and lower back once you have them in a fully functional position. If you have done some Biomechanics with me, you will understand about the pelvis being in a functional position — it is about alignment and balance in the body so that all muscles around the lower back are working effectively and efficiently.

These exercises will then help to strengthen the core muscles in order to maintain that balance and alignment in the body. Commit to your core!

As with all our exercises work at the appropriate level for your body.

Book a Catchup

If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead, just follow the link to book it.

Simply tell us the class you will miss and —most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.

Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
