Hello ,
Firstly, I just want to thank those of you who took the time and trouble to send feedback after attending Mary’s volunteer classes. I attended myself this week, so everything you
said was very constructive and will work towards Mary improving her teaching skills, so a big Thank You to all of you from Mary and all of us here at Jane Thomas Pilates.
Mary will be starting new Absolute Beginners Courses in Rosebery Street Medical Centre from 13 July at these times:
- Wednesdays 9.30-10.15am
- Wednesday 7.00-7.45pm
There will be two free taster classes on 6 July, so if you know anyone
who would like to start Pilates with us, please do recommend us to them. There's only a couple of spaces remaining.
Our Absolute Beginners Courses really are the best way to start Pilates, as they are highly structured and progress from the absolute basics of Pilates, and have a maximum of eight participants for the duration of the course. We care that everyone gets the best possible start to their Pilates introduction, and Absolute Beginners Courses are just the very
start of this.
With that in mind I am just going to share our mission statement here at JTP:
The Jane Thomas Pilates Mission Statement
Why Do We Do
It? Freedom for you: freedom from aches pains and injuries; freedom of movement;
freedom to live an active happy lifestyle
How Do We Do It? By focussing on individual needs, we show you how to build your strength from the
inside out. Our team of Instructors will work with you to improve your mobility, posture, and flexibility.
What Do We Offer? Small-group Pilates matwork classes in a venue near you. Try one of our classes for
free.
I feel we offer so much more than Pilates in our classes, so I hope you all take the opportunity and take full advantage of this.
Have a great week everyone — look, move and feel good.

I am sending you a full routine this week, specifically aimed at those of you who play golf. It is however, suitable for everyone, the level of the exercises is appropriate for everyone in our groups and whilst some of you will feel you want to be challenged more, focus on being ‘in the
room’ with your body and fully experiencing the connection between your mind, body and soul. Enjoy!
Work at the appropriate level for your body.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

Letting yourself off the hook!
Have you ever forgotten an appointment? I have, I did it this week — it is something which I hate doing, and it has happened to me at the studio when clients have either booked, but not written it down in their diaries at the time, so
have forgotten completely, or simply got the time wrong.
I got the wrong time for my appointment and unfortunately I thought it was later than the actual time. Once I realised, I felt terrible and tried to get in touch with the person I was supposed to be meeting.
It left me feeling awful, I felt like I had let her down, I felt guilty, I felt cross with myself for not double checking my calendar and I felt I had wasted her time. Whenever this
has happened in the past to me I have let these thoughts carry on in my head, going over and over why I had missed the appointment, and how the other party would be annoyed with me for wasting their time…
But I decided, not this time! I apologised for missing the appointment, I forgave myself, I am not perfect, I have a lot of things happening in my life that need my time and me to think about. In reality it was a Skype call so the other party hadn’t needed to
take time to travel anywhere for the meeting — and it had provided her with time for herself, and she had taken her dog out for a walk instead.
So if you have had one of those weeks, forgetting things, not quite getting everything right, not quite meeting everyone else's expectations — it's ok, it will all be alright, so forgive yourself, it is all fine.

Most matwork and Reformer classes are running as planned this week, and in their correct venues. However, there are no classes in Old Woodhouse Hall on Friday morning 8 July as we cannot have the Hall, and no classes on Friday evening
in Hathern Community School.
Also, there are no Reformer classes on Friday 8 July or Saturday 9 July.
There is a Reformer Extra class on Tuesday 5 July at 12.15pm, so if you have booked, please remember to come.
If you have not already tried a Reformer and would like to sample a Reformer class for yourself for free, remember that we run these Reformer Extra classes exactly for that purpose. There are no
spaces left in the 6 July Reformer Extra class, but there are — currently — still spaces in the 13 July Reformer Extra class, so email Karen on office@janethomaspilates.co.uk to reserve a space for yourself.
Book a Catchup
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and
would like to book a space in another class instead, just follow the link to book it.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and —most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will
occur.
