Hello ,
I am happy to report some new classes starting this week. We have two new Pilates Reformer classes starting with Jenny on Monday from 7–8pm and 8–9pm, and our new Instructor Mary
starts to work with some preparation classes on Wednesday, one at 9.30am and one in the evening at 7pm. Thank you to all those who have volunteered to attend Mary’s classes.
Any instructor that wants to work with our team has to go through a 30-day training programme with Jane following their qualification as a Pilates teacher and these preparation classes form a vital part of developing skills as a JTP teacher. Constructive feedback will also be very important to
us, so we look forward to receiving that.
Also, a note to everyone who was interested in purchasing a Foam Roller, I have some available now to buy, I was hoping to get them at a reduced rate but they have worked out at £16 each, which is cost price. If you do want one, see Jane in class.
Have a great week — look, move and feel good with Pilates.

We are working flat-out on producing our Summer Timetable of matwork classes. It will be ready in a week or two, ready for you all to book your classes over the summer. Needless to say, it's quite a work of art, so it is taking up quite a bit of time.
Our term-time
classes end the week beginning 11 July, at the end of the current course. Following that, the Summer Timetable will run right through to September.
Everyone on the Monthly Payment Plan has four included classes they can book in any class, in any venue, in any day, at any time. If you do two classes a week and are on the Payment Plan, you have eight classes to book.
For everyone, either on the Payment Plan or not, you are not restricted
to booking into your normal class. It is the perfect opportunity to book your classes around your own summer holidays, and of course it is also a great opportunity to try other classes.

This week I have put together a little video link for those who struggle to kneel for some exercises. I show some alternatives that can be practised.
So for those of you who have replacement knees, or generally suffer if too much pressure is placed on the knee, have
a look at the alternatives I give:
In the video I show some alternatives to some Pilates moves which may help you when at home or in class. Next week I will put together a short routine showing how to use the alternatives in a complete workout.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

A brilliant picture showing Joseph at about the age of 80 preparing to do a Wide Leg Rocker — an exercise which when I teach it, I usually build up to it rather than teaching the full move week 1.
This week I want you all to be very mindful of how your body
feels in class. As a team we will be teaching you a new programme of exercises which we aim to progress with you over the next 6 weeks.
I want you to be mindful of how your muscles feel as you move, and start to recognise the difference between the discomfort of challenging a muscle group in a different way, and pain when your body is struggling. It is a challenge to recognise the difference and sometimes, when we are still feeling our muscles following classes, we
can become fearful of repeating the experience.
This shouldn’t make us fearful of challenging our body though, because if we do want to progress and improve with our mobility and strength, we need — occasionally — to step out of our comfort zone with our movement. So during your class this week be mindful of your body, recognise the challenges being created for your muscles, don’t always be fearful when something feels different, and start making the connection
between challenge and progress.
After all, we all want to be able to do Wide Leg Rocker when we are 80, don't we?

All matwork and Reformer classes are running as planned this week, and all in their correct venues. Doesn't happen often, so everybody please make the most of it... ;-)
A reminder to all volunteers who have
offered to help out with some preparation classes for Mary — those classes start this week, on Wednesday, at 9.30am and 7.00pm. Thanks to all.
There's also a Reformer Extra class on Thursday 9 June at 13.30pm. Please don't forget it, if you're booked to attend.
Book a Catchup
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and
would like to book a space in another class instead, just follow the link to book it.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and —most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will
occur.
