The Jane Thomas Pilates Newsletter
Hello ,

I’m just back from a course which took place over the weekend…

I love attending courses because I feel I have a responsibility to everyone who signs up with Jane Thomas Pilates to ensure I am keeping up-to-date and continuously developing as a Pilates Coach/Trainer. I always feel motivated and enthusiastic about learning because it means I then share this with our extended JTP family, and it helps to ensure that you are all fully benefiting from your Pilates experience within the family.

I am very excited about passing on these new experiences over the summer classes and into September (when we get our full timetable up and running again), so I look forward to seeing everyone.

We are still recruiting to our Absolute Beginners Classes which Mary will be teaching over the next 8 weeks, so if you do know of anyone who you think would benefit from trying our classes, please pass on our details and encourage them to contact us. But QUICKLY please, as they're starting very soon and spaces are becoming like hens' teeth...

Have a good week everyone — remember to look, move and feel great.

Summer Timetable Mat Classes
All of our clients have now been emailed the Summer Timetable, and hopefully you have all been busy booking your summer matwork classes to fit around your busy schedule between July and September.

If not — please do it soon, or there may not be spaces in the classes you would like. Some classes are already full! This is a final reminder to do it, as Summer Timetable classes start NEXT WEEK.
Exercise Of The Week
This week I am looking at a roll up exercise.

I demonstrate a few modifications of this in the video, so when you practise this exercise, please ensure you are working at the appropriate level for your body.

The roll up is a great exercise to mobilise the spine, and strengthen and work the core muscles in the front and in the back of the body.

Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

Your Whole Self
I love this quote:

accept what you can’t change,
change what you can’t accept

We all have a choice, and we all have the power to do this for ourselves. I know that if I am feeling worried or frustrated about things that happen in my daily life, I have a choice.

The choice is whether or not to accept it!

There are always things that are beyond our control — I know I felt angry when my sister was diagnosed with cancer and I felt this anger building up inside me and this was beginning to affect my judgement and my mood on a daily basis. I had to learn to accept it, because I couldn’t change it — it was beyond my control.

I had to make a choice to accept it, or stay angry and upset — which was pointless. So gradually I have accepted it and I now feel at peace with myself.

This in turn then allowed me to make a choice about the things I could change about the situation. By simply following this rule a lot of angst and worry can be avoided, and in their place comes empowerment and positivity.

So use this as your mantra this week if you have a situation that is troubling you.

This week is the last week of regular term-time matwork classes (with the exception of the Friday morning Old Woodhouse Hall classes) and all matwork classes are running as planned this week, all in their correct venues.

Next week the Summer Timetable of matwork classes starts, which leads us right through the summer till the first week of September. Remember, the summer classes have to be booked in advance. You have all been emailed the Summer Timetable, with full instructions how to book your chosen summer classes.

Book a Catchup

If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead, just follow the link to book it.

Simply tell us the class you will miss and —most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.

Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
