Just a quickie to remind everyone of how to use our wonderful CATCHUPS system.
If you know you will be missing your regular class — please notify us by following the link at the bottom of the Newsletter each week OR go to our website and follow the link at the bottom of the page. Karen handles all Catchups for us, and this is the quickest way to let her know. If you use any other method eg, just emailing her, she may
not see it in time.
Even if you DO NOT want a catch up class yourself, somebody else might be wanting a space, and by you not attending they can have your space… as long as Karen knows about it.
If you wake up ill on the day of your class it is still worth notifying us via the link — not by texting your Pilates Coach though — because there may be someone waiting and your Coach will not know this,
but Karen will.
This is just a reminder, because the system is great and it does mean that you never have to miss a class if you use it, but it does depend on all of our cooperation. Many thanks everyone.
Have a fantastic week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling great.
PS Remember the Healthy Backs Masterclass on Saturdy 26 November if you have booked a space.

Due to popular demand, I am sending out my short hip and core release workout.
Often when there is lower back discomfort the focus is on the lumbar spine, but the cause may be coming from tight hip flexors and a particular muscle — the psoas major — that
isn’t doing its job.
The feedback from you is that this short routine has made a difference, so in case any of you missed it the first time here it is again.
Take 5 minutes every day this week to practise, but please remember to keep away from pain, and work at the appropriate level for your body.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more
balanced.

Sharing stuff — are you a sharer or do you like to keep everything to yourself?
I have always thought of myself as a sharer… and on occasion perhaps shared too much information (if you come to my classes you will have been on the receiving end of this sharing and perhaps
thought that!).
However, if you are a sharer it does stop you from ‘bottling’ things up — particularly feelings. Bottling up your feelings is a bad thing because if we try to suppress our feelings it can lead to a more dangerous place, and that place is depression.
For example it is perfectly normal to feel angry. Anger is an acceptable emotional state. However if we suppress our anger it can turn into rage — which is not acceptable — click
the picture above to see what can happen. Hopefully we're not all like Basil Fawlty when we get angry, but it's just an extrapolation of the normal range of emotions.
So this week I would like you all to start sharing stuff and it doesn’t have to necessarily be emotions and feelings. We can start by just sharing things that we perhaps think people won’t know about us. Learning to do this, in turn helps us to share deeper, more meaningful stuff like our emotions and
feelings. So here is a little starter for you — 5 things you perhaps don’t know about me:
- I have Grade 8 on the violin.
- At 16 I was running in platform shoes at school and fell over on a black gravelled car park, I still have a scar on my knee and it is still black!
- I suffered from post-natal depression after I had my son George, and it lasted for nearly 5 years.
- Before retraining to teach in the fitness world, I worked as a Human Resources Manager in the
NHS.
- I ran the London Marathon in 2000, and my time was 4 hours and 20 minutes.
So, share 5 of your things with the people around you.

With one exception, all classes are running fully this week, in their correct venues, and at their correct times and days.
The excepton is the Saturday class in Quorn Village Hall — there is no class
on Saturday 26 November as we can't have the Hall that day.
Remember though, that Jane's Healthy Backs Masterclass is on Saturday 26 November, at 9.30am in Rosebery Street Medical Centre. If you have booked to be on it, please make sure you come to it to take your space, as it has proven to be extremely popular and we have had to turn many people away.
Book a Catchup
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and
would like to book a space in another class instead, just follow the link to book it.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and —most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will
occur.
