There are free Pilates matwork taster sessions in Sileby, Seagrave and Hathern this week, as well as Pilates for Equestrians matwork taster sessions in Brooksby Equestrian Centre. If you know anyone who would benefit from Pilates — please let them know.
A Celebration
I want to celebrate everyone who has been attending our Pilates classes over the years.
Some of you (and you know who you are) have been attending our classes for more than 14 years. I have been teaching Pilates for just over 17 years and some of you have been there from the very beginning.
I want to send out my love to you, and tell you that I really appreciate each and every one of you for continuing to include Pilates in your life. I know that I don’t see all of you every week, but I love it when you pop into my classes for Catchups and I can see how
you are continuing to improve your strength, mobility and living your life to the full. THANK YOU … yes YOU!!
In The Summertime… This week we will be finalising our Summer Timetable of group matwork classes, so keep an eye open for that as you will need to book your places. Remember — for those on the Monthly Payment Plan — any four classes over the summer are included, and if you are planning on being
away for most of the summer you can even do all four of your classes in one week.
The summer is great because you get an opportunity to perhaps try a different teacher’s class, and as we get very comfortable working with one specific person, it is sometimes good to step out of our comfort zone. Have a fantastic week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling great.

A Side Lift
This week’s exercise concentrates on our lateral muscle chain — our obliques (the muscles around our waist), our adductors (inner thighs), rhomboids and deltoids (shoulder
girdle).
As you practise this exercise be conscious and mindful of where you are feeling the work in the body, and focus on the areas I have explained to ensure the correct muscles are doing the correct job. Enjoy!
In the video I start from the first level and work right through to a more challenging position, so ensure you work at the appropriate level for your
body.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

Lots of our JTP family are doing a lot of caring for other people at at the moment, whether this be for grandchildren, siblings, friends, parents, children… The list can go on.
For all those of you with these responsibilities at the moment please remember that when you
are giving and caring for others, don’t lose sight of the importance of your own health and wellbeing.
If you are planning and making lists of things you have to do — and this includes the things you are doing for others — add something to that list which is all about you and for your own benefit. Just add one thing for yourself each day that will make your life better.
This isn’t being selfish — it's giving consideration
to the fact that in order to be of your best to serve others you have to invest in yourself.
Value yourself this week and instead of you being at the bottom of your list, put yourself at the top!

All classes are running this week, all in their correct venues, on the normal days and times. Next week is half-term so most classes have a break.
There are free taster classes in Sileby, Seagrave, Hathern and
Brooksby this week, so if you know of anyone who would benefit from Pilates, do them a favour and point them in our direction please.
Book a Catchup
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead,
just follow the link to book it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a
Catchup.
Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class Pilates Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link
here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best way to let Karen know.
