Let's talk about consistency this week.
In order to get the results we want, we have to be consistent with our behaviour. I am a big athletics fan, and am looking forward to watching the World Athletics Championships which started this weekend. I always feel inspired
when watching the performances of all the athletes, but what is most inspiring is their level of commitment towards achieving their goals.
Having worked with some athletes I understand just how consistent they have to be with their training, with their lifestyle, with their behaviour, with their choices, in order to get to the performance level they need to be able to compete. This consistency is easily transferred to our daily lives, and that doesn’t mean to
say we all want to be Olympic athletes.
When you think about everything we do on a daily basis the more consistent we are with our choices and our behaviour the more likely we will be to achieve our goals — whether it be to lose weight, to become more active, to bake the perfect cake, to grow the perfect vegetables, to improve our mindset — they all need a commitment towards being consistent.
I know that if I consistently practise my
Pilates every day not only do I physically move with more freedom, but it improves my mindset for the day ahead, I also know that if I consistently practise my scales on my cello (yes, that's me in the photo) I will eventually get to be able to play Bach’s Cello Suite No 1 in G Major.
Think about your actions, your choices and bring some consistency into your life and make the difference.
