Hooray!
Our new timetable for matwork classes has started today! Very happy that the JTP team are back in action delivering some great new content in their classes.
We are welcoming lots of new members to our family as the team have been busy with free taster classes for absolute beginners to Pilates, so we hope you enjoy your introduction to Pilates with us, and that you continue to enjoy
your Pilates with us for a long time. Plus if you want to know what Pilates has done for me, my mind and body, and why I am so passionate about it, listen to my audio blog (see the link below under Your Whole Self).

Have a fantastic week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling great.

This week I am starting to look at pre-op and post-op exercises to assist with knee replacement rehab/recovery.
We have quite a few members of our JTP family who have had to go through this kind of surgery, so I want to begin to show you how Pilates
can help, both with preparation before surgery, but also following surgery.
The aim of the pre-op exercise routine is to build the muscle memory with exercises that will help improve the post-op rehab and provide a feeling of well-being for the mind and body. It is vital to work on strengthening the muscles around the knee to improve the structure of the joint so that performing activities of daily living, plus recreational activities such as walking, running and sports
is achievable. If these muscles are being exercised before surgery, then post surgery recovery will have a better chance of success. This week’s exercise is for the adductor muscles (inner thighs).
This is a great exercise, safe for everyone to do even if you aren’t in a pre-op stage. The focus should be on feeling the squeeze come from the adductor muscles rather than the knees themselves, plus maintaining a neutral pelvis
alignment.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

All matwork classes are back to normal this week. There are new Absolute Beginners classes in Seagrave Memorial Hall (Tuesday 10.15am), Gorse Covert Community Centre (Wednesday 9.30am, Thursday 6pm), and Hathern Village Hall
(Friday 10.30am). There are one or two spaces left in one or two of these new courses, so please get in touch to book a space if you'd like to join.
Our new year's Reformer class timetable kicks in at the end of the week. All the same as before, however, the Friday Reformer class is moving to Thursdays as of next week — Thursday 21 September.
Book a Catchup
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead,
just follow the link to book it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a
Catchup.
Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class Pilates Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link
here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best way to let Karen know.
