Half-term fortnight

The Jane Thomas Pilates Newsletter
Hello
This week is the first week of our half-term. We have a fortnight because many of our classes are in the Leicestershire area (the first week) and many others are in the Nottinghamshire area (the second week). Having a fortnight off makes sure that all of you aren't affected too much by this. Having a complete fortnight also allows our Pilates Coaches to recharge their batteries fully, and means any classes that had been cancelled for one reason or another earlier in the course can be rescheduled, so everyone gets their classes.
Have a fantastic week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling great.

Exercise Of The Week
As there are no classes this week here is a short Pilates routine which can be done at home. It is short — around 9 minutes — so you can do it every day to maintain your Pilates flexibility.

Watch the video first all the way through as I show some alternative positions, plus a modification for swimming legs (not demonstrated in the video) would be quadruped — on all fours. As with all of our routines and Exercises of the Weeks, work at the appropriate level for your body, and keep away from pain.

The idea is not to blast through the routine at full pelt, but to use the routine more as a maintenance device to keep your Pilates going each day. The more often you do Pilates, the greater the benefits you will get from it.

Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

Your Whole Self
Everybody has a crazy idea in them. Everybody has a dream. That may be as simple as wanting to climb a mountain one day. Or it may be more involved — like studying for a Masters degree, or losing weight, or running the London Marathon, or getting out of the rat race (by studying to be a Pilates Coach) and completely changing your career, or seeing the Great Wall of China or the Grand Canyon or Ayer's Rock.

Don't let that crazy idea just be an idea. Do something about it. You will not regret taking action — doing something you want is infinitely better than not doing it.

Your time is short. Don't waste what's left. Don't forget that there is no time like the present to do that crazy thing you want to do. If you put that crazy thing off you will miss that opportunity. You will regret it, you will resent it. Don't waste your time thinking about it.

Do it!

Wow! A rare sight. Nothing! Nada! No classes.

Don't miss your Pilates though. Make sure you follow the link to the Exercise of the Week video above, and do the Pilates routine with Jane. Do it every day over the break, to feel the most benefits.

Book a Catchup

If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead, just follow the link to book it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen know.

Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.

Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.

Finally, please don't just tell your class Pilates Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best way to let Karen know.
