Announcing Our Wellbeing and Movement Day

The Jane Thomas Pilates Newsletter
Hello
We are keeping the Newsletter short and sweet this week, so the first thing I want to announce is our Wellbeing and Movement Day that will be taking place on Saturday 6th January 2018.

We wanted to welcome in the New Year with an opportunity for everyone to try out some of the new classes we will be adding to our timetable next year. So the day will be full of taster sessions for you to book in to and try for free.

The whole JTP team are really keen to introduce you to how we use Pilates principles to focus on different parts of our lives, so there will be Pilates for Pelvic Floor Health — our Diamond Pilates programme, Spine Safe and Back Care, Relaxation for Sleep, to name just a few samples of our sessions.

We will also have information about using Pilates for Recovery, imoveFreely which ties in with our Biomechanics packages, plus an opportunity to try out the Pilates Reformer.

We will let you have more information over the coming weeks, but for now you just need to mark the date in your diary. All these sessions will be free of charge, and we hope you will be able to bring family and friends with you who you feel will benefit from finding out more about what we offer.

It is going to be a fantastic day, and I do hope you will take advantage of it.
Have a great week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling great.

Exercise Of The Week
As we head towards December and the build up to Christmas, I think we all need to take some time out for a moment of peace and quiet.

One way of doing this is to focus on some breathing, and some simple stretching. So I am providing 3 video links this week.

The first one is for you to practise your Pilates Thoracic breathing to help you focus in class and with your personal Pilates practise. Click or tap here to see this video.

The second is some mindful breathing to release tension in the body to help with rest and relaxation. Click or tap here to see this video.

And the third is a Cat Stretch to get the spine moving in a safe and effective way. Click or tap here to see this video.

So this week take some time for yourself and allow yourself to just be.

Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

Your Whole Self
This week just take a look at the picture below.

There are many statements there for us to read and take on board and to try to achieve all of them would be overwhelming, so choose just one and focus on this during the week.

Work on it, believe it and let it become your mantra for the week.

It's almost a full week, with most classes — matwork and Reformer — running as planned, in their correct venues, on the correct days, at the correct times. However, two classes not running are the Friday evening matwork classes in Hathern Community School.

Book a Catchup

If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead, just follow the link to book it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen know.

Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.

Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.

Finally, please don't just tell your class Pilates Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best way to let Karen know.
