The Jane Thomas Pilates Newsletter
Hello
We had a fabulous day on Saturday in our Wellbeing and Movement Through Pilates Day, with lots of our current Pilates family bringing friends and relatives to try our sessions and to meet us throughout the day. Around 150 of you came along, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had 4 specific sessions for you all, running during the Day: Pelvic Floor Health; Healthy and Happy Spines; imoveFreely (Biomechanics); and Relaxation for Sleep.

All sessions were very well received and — from this success — we are going to be running some short courses covering these areas over the coming months, starting with a pelvic floor workshop that Cara will be teaching very soon (see below).

Diamond Pilates Pelvic Floor Workshop
Cara's Diamond Pilates Pelvic Floor Workshop starts on Saturday 13th January, at 9.30am in Rosebery Street Medical Centre, Loughborough. This workshop will run for 5 weeks and the cost is £50, if you are interested in signing up to this short course please contact us quickly — simply by replying to this Newsletter. More information about Cara's fabulous new Diamond Pilates Pelvic Floor Workshop is also available here.

Look out for other courses too in the future as we start to introduce a more specific level of care into our programme of classes.

New Matwork Classes
We also have some more matwork classes being added to the timetable from week beginning 15th January. There's a new class at Sileby on Monday mornings, and new classes at Gorse Covert Community Centre, Loughborough on Wednesday mornings and Thursday evenings.

I would like to ask you all a favour, if you have friends or family who you feel would benefit from doing Pilates with us, then please do pass on our details to them to get in touch and try a free taster class.

New Reformer Classes
Remember too, we have some new Reformer classes starting up shortly. The Pilates Reformer is quite literally the best boost to your Pilates you can have. Our classes are in micro-groups of only 4 people, so you get personal training at an economical price. The classes we're planning so far are on these days & times:
  • Wednesdays 8am
  • Wednesdays 9am
  • Thursdays 6pm
  • Thursdays 7pm
These will be all in the Studio. Reply to this Newsletter if you're interested, looking for more information, or to book a space.

In other news, all matwork and Reformer classes are back to normal this week, and I am really looking forward to seeing everyone and getting every one moving again after the festive period.
Have a fantastic week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling great.

Exercise Of The Week
In this new year I want us all to become more aware of how to keep our bones strong. In particular this week we are going to look at wrists.

In order to keep our bones strong it is crucial that we do weight bearing exercise, so in this week’s video I show you how to start doing some gentle weight-bearing work which will help to strengthen our wrists.

Even if you only start with a few repetitions and gradually build up your bones and your joints will start to feel the benefits. Please work at the appropriate level for your body.

Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

Your Whole Self
I receive such a lot of positive feedback from our Pilates classes and our Studio sessions that I am going to spend the next few weeks sharing some of those stories with you. I am hoping you will find them just as inspirational as I do.

This week I am sharing Mary’s story. Mary is one of our Pilates Coaches, and she tells us just how Pilates has helped her get her body and her life back after having two babies. The youngest is just 3 months old, and Mary is going to be returning to coaching her classes this week.

It's official! The festive period is over. The decs are down, and the tree feels long gone...

All classes are back up-and-running.

Book a Catchup

If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead, just follow the link to book it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen know.

Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.

Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.

Finally, please don't just tell your class Pilates Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best way to let Karen know.
