Firstly apologies to all the men out there reading this Newsletter this week, but I am dedicating it to all the Mums.
This week is our HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY edition of the Newsletter — celebrating the unconditional love, care and support we associate with Mums. So for all those Mums out there I hope you had a wonderful day, being spoilt, putting your feet up, allowing others to do the stuff that you would normally be
in charge of.
I was very lucky, my son George cooked me a fabulous breakfast and we spent the day together chilling out, watching films, watching the rugby. It was a fabulous day spending some quality time just him and me.
When my Mum was still alive, I would often ask her what she would like as a gift, whether it was Mother's Day or her birthday or Christmas — and her standard reply was “I would just like to spend some time with you” which I
used to think wasn’t very helpful, but actually I totally get it now that I am a Mum and my son has become an adult. I absolutely love spending time with George. So for me, my Mother's Day was just the perfect day. I hope yours was too.
Spaces If there's anyone on the Newsletter mailing list who doesn't yet come to classes, and you haven't really tried Pilates before, we have some classes that would be ideal
for you to join. You can even have a free taster class in one to see what you think of us before you commit. Perhaps also, you already feel the benefits of regular Plates classes, but want to achieve greater things along with the growing number of our clients that now do two classes a week, so want to start a second class for yourself. There's a few classes with some spaces still available:
- Mondays 12 midday in Quorn Village Hall
- Mondays 7pm in Rosebery Street Medical
Centre
- Mondays 6.30pm in St Gregory’s Social Centre Sileby
- Tuesdays 6.45pm in Rosebery Street Medical Centre
- Wednesdays 10.30am in Rosebery Street Medical Centre
- Wednesdays 5.30pm & 6.30pm in The Base Gymnastics Centre
- Fridays 5.30pm in Hathern Community School
Reformers Our micro-group Reformer classes at the Studio are extremely popular, so much so that we
are planning to put new classes on asap. If you are interested in a Reformer class then please get in touch to register your interest and we'll let you know our plans.
As always, to enquire about anything in the Newsletter, just hit the Reply button to contact us.
Have a fantastic week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling great.

This week we have a simple stretch for the mid-spine area of the body, and it can be done in a standing or seated position. It focuses on increasing flexibility and mobility.
Work at the appropriate level for your body and keep away from
pain.
If reaching the arm to the ceiling for a side stretch is too challenging for the shoulder joint, keep the arms down by the side of the body. If doing the side stretch creates discomfort in the lower back and this refers pain to the buttock or the leg, then keep the arms slightly in front of the body, and do a small pelvic tilt by pulling the tail bone between the legs.
Approximately 4–5 repetitions for each side will be enough to
maintain/improve mobility.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

Time — and who you spend it with — is very important to living a happy and fulfilled life.
When you work hard it can be an easy habit to fall into of doing nothing else but work. And work doesn’t always relate to the work that pays us money, it can be chores around the
house, shopping for food, voluntary work, committees, meetings, all of these things use up time. To me some of these things feel like they steal time away from doing other things that would be more fulfilling and bring me more joy.
Of course these things have to be done… or do they? Maybe — but how important are they… really? Time with our loved ones, time for ourselves, time spent laughing, loving and living, don’t waste it.
This poem —
Babies Don’t Keep by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton — is really aimed at mums with babies, but I feel it is relevant, and meaningful to how we spend time.
Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth, Empty the dustpan, poison the moth, Hang out the washing, make up the bed, Sew on a button and butter the
bread.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking? She’s up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I’ve grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue, Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo. Dishes are waiting and bills are past due Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo
The shopping’s not done and there’s nothing for stew And out in the yard there’s a hullabaloo But I’m playing
Kanga and this is my Roo Look! Aren’t his eyes the most wonderful hue? Lullabye, rockaby lullabye loo.
The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow But children grow up as I’ve learned to my sorrow. So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep! I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

Book a Catchup
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead,
just follow the link to book it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a
Catchup.
Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class Pilates Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link
here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best way to let Karen know.
