Exciting news this week is that we are having a bit of a change around of Coaches in our Reformer classes, so from Thursday 19th April Cara will be taking over the Thursday morning Pilates Reformer sessions, 8.00am and 9.00am respectively.
Plus we have a brand-new Absolute Beginners Course starting on Saturday 14th April, 9.30am-10.30am at Rosebery Street Medical Centre, Loughborough. Although we
limit numbers in these classes we do still have a few spaces, so if you know of anyone who is looking to start a Pilates class, please let them know to contact us on office@janethomaspilates.co.uk to book a space.
The course is 6 weeks long and costs £60. Not only does this cover the class, but it also provides weekly video
workouts and an explanatory course book which takes participants right through from the foundations of Pilates to a progressive Pilates class. This course then provides the opportunity to move into one of our ongoing timetabled classes.
Book now to avoid disappointment.
Important...
This week in
class you will be given a new pre-exercise health questionnaire to complete. If you remember, as I said in last week's Newsletter, this is happening because of the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which comes into effect soon.
Even if you have only fairly recently completed an earlier questionnaire for us, please bear with us and complete this new one. Your Coach will allow everyone some time in class to complete the new questionnaire. Please complete it
fully and clearly. Thank you all.
As you can imagine, this is a massive exercise for us to do as a company, but the new questionnaire is absolutely necessary for us to hold for our insurance, and it also means you are fully aware of how we meet the GDPR requirements. It will only take a few minutes for you to complete.
As a benefit, doing this does mean we do have the very latest information from you, and you are now aware that the GDPR
defines you have the following rights:
- to know what personal information we hold about you
- to be able to correct anything that is incorrect
- to be able to ask us to delete the information.
It's all for a good reason.
Have a fantastic week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling great.

I haven’t posted this exercise for a while and because I am passionate about maintaining bone and joint strength, I felt it would be a good opportunity to include this exercise into your home workout routine. The push up.
This is a
weight-bearing exercise and is strengthening for the upper body, arms, shoulders and chest.
I would stress that if you have any problems with weight bearing through the wrists due to conditions such as arthritis then please check out the modifications I provide in the video and practise the exercise at the appropriate level.
I show how to include the push up with a roll down, so you have a sequence to work with at home, and this will
provide you with mobility for the spine, core strength as well as the benefits provided for the rest of the body by doing the push up itself. I always stress the importance of working at the appropriate level for your body and keep away from pain.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

Life is so much better when you share, sharing fun, sharing laughs, sharing love, sharing good news, sharing bad news, sharing facts, sharing opinions, sharing chocolate …. oh hang on there, let's not get too carried away with the sharing malarkey!
Honestly
though, sharing brings so much pleasure, reassurance, commitment, satisfaction, development.
So please don’t be scared to share your life, share your experiences, share your successes, share your ups and your downs, it's only through the sharing that we find our true happiness. Sharing strengthens us all. #sharingmylife

All matwork classes are running as planned this week, all in their correct venues, at the correct days and times. On the other hand, only two reformer classes are running this week — Thursday 12.30pm and Saturday
11.15am.
Book a Catchup
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead,
just follow the link to book it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a
Catchup.
Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class Pilates Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link
here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best way to let Karen know.
