Being
There
Those of you that have received my newsletter for some time, will know how important I think it is to being present — being more connected with who you are and what you really want.
I have mentioned a few ways that I have tried which have helped me to achieve this, but, for me one of THE most important ways has been through Pilates.
What I truly love about Pilates, is that
if you want to do it properly, you have to be mindful.
You have to focus on the breathing, on connecting with your abdominals, on the muscles that are working, or lengthening or both, on your alignment and most importantly how it feels in your body. So this week’s exercise is a Shoulder Bridge and your goal with this exercise is to be mindful of the movement that you can create for your body.
Absolute Beginners
We have a new Absolute Beginners Course starting on Wednesday 6 June, at 7pm in Loughborough. We have a couple of spaces left. If you are interested reply to this Newsletter for more information.
Have a fantastic week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling great.

The Shoulder Bridge is sometimes loved by folks and sometimes hated, so after this week’s Exercise of the Week, I am hoping I will have converted all the ‘haters’ into ‘lovers’ of this truly wonderful exercise which brings you mobility, length and
strength.
As with every Exercise of the Week, work at the appropriate level for your body, keep away from pain and be present with the movement.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

The focus for Your Whole Self this week is your Pilates practice. If you are really doing Pilates you cannot just go through the motions... you have to be present!
It's the being present that actually makes Pilates feel relaxing. You spend the
whole hour focusing on you — no one else — no worries, just you and your body. That in itself reduces your stress levels considerably, and — if your stress levels are lowered — so are your cortisol levels, and it is for this reason that Pilates can aid in weight loss. Cortisol contributes to us being unable to shift stubborn fat!
On top of all that, as your body strengthens and increases in flexibility, you feel better and better:
- You are far more
able to carry out simple everyday tasks
- You can play more easily and longer with your children/grandchildren
- Your posture improves
- Your confidence and coordination improves
- Your balance improves
- You can do other sports better
- Your energy levels increase
- Your stress levels decrease
- Your pain reduces!
Pilates is about YOU doing something wonderful for yourself It is so important
to take care of yourself, and then you are far more able to take care of others!
Make your Pilates a priority!

It's half-term break, so there's only a small handful of classes running. Make sure you check the Calendar before you go to your class, as it may not be on this week.
You can view the above Calendar large

Book a Catchup
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead,
just follow the link to book it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a
Catchup.
Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class Pilates Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's
also at the bottom of our website too) is the best way to let Karen know.
