Four items of news this week. First — Catchups. Our Catchups system is a great feature where you can let us know you are going to miss a class (say, if you have an appointment) and book into another class. You simply do not ever need to miss any of your matwork classes with us. It's all run by Karen on our behalf, and it all works swimmingly
However, I just want to remind everyone that Catchups do not generally carry over
from term-to-term, and most certainly not from year-to-year.
All Catchups not taken by the end of our year (ie, the end of August 2018) will be voided. If you have outstanding Catchup classes to take, please do get them booked and taken soon, or you will lose them.
Second, our Pelvic Floor Specialist Pilates Coach Cara has only a couple of spaces left in her Diamond Pilates Pelvic Floor Workshop starting on Saturday.
The Workshop runs for 5 consecutive Saturday morning sessions, For more information, reply to this Newsletter and we will get Cara to send details.
Third, our on-site sport and remedial massage therapist Gail has a very special offer on exclusively for JTP clients. Read on for more details.

Finally — A Radio Star!!!
So did you listen in to my interview on BBC Radio Leicester today? I was there to talk with Ben Jackson on the Mid-Morning Show about Men's Health and
how Pilates can be helpful to get men to become more in tune with their bodies and to give them the confidence to become more active, or even to maintain activity levels.
It is my job of course, but it has also always been my philosophy that Pilates should be a lifestyle choice because the benefits are so varied and functional. This week is Men's Health Awareness week, so I
encourage you to share with your male friends, family members, colleagues, the many benefits of doing Pilates.
Encourage them to come to a class with you for a free taster — let us know first to ensure there will be space, and so that we as Coaches know to expect them and welcome them.
Going forward, JTP hopes to add men-only classes to the timetable in the future, which will provide for those chaps who wouldn’t
want to be part of a class that is mostly women. Keep an eye out for more information about our Male Only classes heading your way.
Have a fantastic week folks — keep looking, moving and
feeling great.

This week I am sending a routine — 20 minutes — and it is a whole body routine. If you are a beginner to Pilates, focus on recruitment of the deep stabilising muscles.
Although this routine is aimed specifically for men, it will work for
everyone. It is a great combination of strength and mobility.
Please work at the appropriate level for your body, I don’t provide any modifications in the routine — but those of you who have been doing Pilates for a while will know if you need to modify — listen to your own body. Those of you who are new — please check in with your instructor.
Keep away from pain.
Feel the difference, move
differently, and look more balanced.

Forgive me ladies, because I am going to focus on MEN! as it is officially Men's Health Week this week.
It is sad that men still feel uncomfortable talking about any issues regarding their health, and I really feel we need to act now to change things.
There are lots of news items currently running which are about men and their health, prostate cancer, mental health, and type 2 diabetes are just three of the areas where the statistics for men seem to be increasing yearly.
With this in mind I believe we can all play a part in encouraging our male friends, partners, sons, fathers, colleagues to start to focus on their health more and improving their mind/body connection. Whether it be a physical change to lifestyle and getting more active or simply encouraging them to chat about their feelings or their
worries and concerns, we can help. It may be that you recognise behavioural changes that reflect some kind of anxiety that hadn’t been seen before, whatever it is we can act now to raise awareness of Men's Health.
Notoriously men do not like to talk about health issues so we can encourage change and let them know that it is ok to share. If you have ever watched an episode of The Inbetweeners you will know and recognise the statement “Not talking …” which was said by a group of young men when their female friends and relatives had suggested that it would be lovely to sit down and just talk! But I do believe that if we can encourage
the men in our lives to talk more then we can help them to keep on top of their health and wellbeing.

All classes — matwork and Reformer — are running as planned, all in their correct venues, at the correct days and times (except Tuesday evening Reformer).
Book a Catchup
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead, just
follow the link to book it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a
Catchup.
Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class Pilates Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's
also at the bottom of our website too) is the best way to let Karen know.
