July is racing by and as I take a mini-break from coaching for a couple of weeks, it is at this time of year that I like to show my appreciation. I have lots to be thankful for this year: the team of brilliant Coaches who have all had a superb year of coaching Pilates and getting into the groove with JTP; Karen who has done an amazing job handling our Catchup system, we definitely couldn’t do this without her; Keith for his never-ending
patience when dealing with me and the amount of effort and work he puts into handling the administration that is needed for JTP to function. But — most importantly — all of you … yes you! All our matwork class participants, our Reformer group participants and all of our 1-2-1 Studio clients who continue to believe in our Pilates and support our Pilates family. For you I am truly thankful.
We had some special events in the last 12 months starting with the
Uptight & Outta Sight workshop when the wonderful Cherry Baker came and shared with us her knowledge and experience of working on improving our Pelvic Floor Health. That was a brilliantly informative and fun afternoon, plus we had tea and cake, and raised money for Hospice at Home Nurses.
The second event was the Rapid Transformation Technique session with Phillippa Botterill when she took us through some mindset and mindful
movement, and we participated in a group hypnotherapy session. This was an amazing experience and those who attended will I am sure still be practising some of those techniques to help calm the mind and deal with day to day life.
Thirdly we had our Wellbeing and Movement Through Pilates Day where the team presented a programme of taster sessions which included, Healthy and Happy Spines, Pelvic Floor Health,
imoveFreely Biomechanics, Relaxation for Sleep, plus we had a Reformer there for those who hadn’t worked on one before to have a little play. This was a hugely successful day and lots of people who had been following the Newsletter but who actually hadn’t joined a class, came to the day and subsequently joined our sessions as a result of meeting us all.
So what a super year we have had, looking forward to doing it
all again, so see you in August!
FROM SEPTEMBER — we will have a few spaces in our Pilates Reformer small-group classes, so please get in touch to find out when they are.
Have a fantastic week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling great.

How many times do you hear me say this in class? Don't worry about what anyone else is doing!
I say it often, particularly if I have some new participants coming into an established group, or if someone is attending a Catchup with me and I don’t know
them very well, and it is the first time they have done a class with me.
It is so very important that you don’t worry about what anyone else is doing in the class, because you are attending to work your own body, and quite often I give alternatives that I believe are specifically going to help individuals.
These alternatives may not always be helpful to you, so you really do have to focus on just you. You are an individual and therefore need
to do what feels right for you, because that is what matters.
This rule can apply to every aspect of life, it is so easy sometimes to compare ourselves to others, in how we look, what we wear, what we achieve, what we are doing, how we are moving … when really it doesn’t matter what others are doing. What does matter is what you are doing — does it feel right for you? Is it something that you want to do? Does it make your heart sing? Does it lift your
spirits? Does it bring you joy?
This is what matters…

Book a Catchup
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead, just
follow the link to book it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a
Catchup.
Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class Pilates Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's
also at the bottom of our website too) is the best way to let Karen know.
