Lots to celebrate this week as we head towards August.
As you all know, just over a year ago I had been training a group of student teachers who all wanted to start teaching Pilates and out of the 8 trainees 5 of them joined the JTP family and we started up lots of new classes in and around the Loughborough area. I am very proud of all the team and what they have achieved in the last 12 months and I do feel very much
of a ‘Mother Hen’ with them, wanting them to be successful and sharing my passion for Pilates and helping others.
As with all Mums a time comes when those chicks want to leave home and forge their own path, and we have already seen Traudi do this with her own successful classes in Barrow upon Soar, and now from September Cara will also be running her own classes. This means that from September Cara’s Hathern classes on Tuesdays at 2.00pm, and Fridays 9.15am and
10.30am, in Hathern Village Hall will be taken over and organised by Cara rather than Jane Thomas Pilates. Those who currently attend her classes will be emailed directly to notify you of how this change will affect you.
This doesn’t mean that Cara will not be teaching with JTP at all, as just like Traudi, they will continue to teach some of our mainstream timetabled classes too.
I should also stress that just like Mums with their
chicks, I feel that part of the training and mentoring I do with the team is aimed at preparing them to run their own classes, and be successful and happy with everything that they do. So I am fully supportive of this move with Cara and I know that her classes will continue to blossom.
Phone Home...
In other news... we are separated from our phone! We first thought we might have lost
it or it was stolen, however we've located it fortunately — we simply left it behind on one of our recent trips — but until it finds its way back to us, I'm afraid we can't take your calls or texts.
Have a fantastic
week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling great.

This week I am sharing a Single Leg Circle, which is a brilliant exercise for mobility in the hip. I demonstrate different levels so please choose the level appropriate to your body.
I also focus specifically on the stability of the
lower back and pelvis with this version of Single Leg Circle. My aim with this version is to stabilise and have an anchor ie, the pelvis, so that isolation for the mobility is possible.
As we progress this exercise and look for more movement in the hip the stability changes, so if you are interested in progressing this exercise please get in touch for further coaching.
Feel the difference, move differently, and
look more balanced.

My time away from teaching in the summer is always used for my own Continuous Professional Development and having just attended a meet up last weekend in Manchester with fellow fitness people, I am now looking forward to attending a course on specific spinal conditions. This course will be in
London and is being organised by a Physiotherapist that I have worked with before.
I love to learn and I love to develop and grow my knowledge, it also gives me time to consider and analyse my teaching of Pilates and how I can affect the people I see and continue to help.
By participating and learning something new and exposing myself to new experiences I am able to stay motivated and I welcome the opportunities this brings into my
life. I meet new people and find out what makes them happy and grow, it gives me more confidence in my ability to do things and try something new and different.
Plus there is a little part of me that would love to simply hide away and go unnoticed, but I know that if I let this part of me take over I wouldn’t be able to live the life I want to live. So — I bat this away and let the other part of me take over, the part that says welcome to new experiences
and welcome to new challenges, the part of me that wants to continue to grow and develop, the part of me that says … oh go on then, let's give it a go …
So if you have the opportunity to do something new, to experience something different, to create a new challenge, just do it! I can fully recommend it — let's get noticed!

Book a Catchup
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and would like to book a space in another class instead, just
follow the link to book it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a
Catchup.
Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class Pilates Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's
also at the bottom of our website too) is the best way to let Karen know.
