This week’s Newsletter is all about the start of our new year which all kicks off from Monday 10th September and everyone in our classes will have received an email from Karen or Keith notifying of class dates, which if you follow your emails through to the end you will always find links which take you to our class timetable dates for 2018/2019. The links are also at the bottom of the Newsletter every week!
There are no
significant changes to our timetable, except we have two additional Reformer classes starting on Wednesday mornings, at 8am-9am and 9am-10am.
Talking of Reformer classes we have a couple of spaces in the following classes:
- Thursday 9am class currently has one space
- Wednesday 8am and 9am classes — these are new classes aimed at beginners or those who have had a small amount of Pilates Reformer
experience.
We also have some spaces in our matwork classes. We have two Absolute Beginners Courses starting in September, on Wednesdays at 11.30am and Saturdays at 9.30am, both at Rosebery Street Medical Centre, Loughborough — reply to this Newsletter for more details. Our Absolute Beginners Courses offer a totally unique introduction to Pilates — as we supply every participant with a 52-page, full-colour, highly illustrated training manual with week-by-week
class and exercise details, plus a video sent out following every class for home care advice and a reminder of the exercises done in the class. Our Absolute Beginners classes are very small — a maximum of 10 participants — so you get fantastic instruction, and everybody in the class is at the exact same level so everything you do in class is directly relevant.
Once an Absolute Beginners Course has been completed, then we have an extensive range of classes at various
venues, at various times and on every day of the week (except Sunday).
Take a look at our matwork and Reformer timetables by following the links at the bottom of this Newsletter and/or just reply for further details.
And Finally... a Teaser
I am also very excited about a new feature which we will be offering here from JTP to all of our class participants. As you know I
am always working at ways of facilitating and enabling everyone to keep their Pilates practice regular and consistent, as this was the aim of Joseph Pilates. I believe our new feature for the 2018/2019 season is going to make this achievable. Coming soon!
Have a fantastic week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling great.

This week I am giving you a short routine which incorporates a hip flexor stretch, with some foundation core strength, and finishing with a stretch for the gluteal group of muscles.
The hip flexor stretch will not be appropriate in basic
form for anyone who struggles to weight bear into their knees, however if you place a pillow lengthways along the front of the shin so that all the weight is no longer pressing into the knee cap then this position and stretch could still be achieved.
As with all our exercises please work at the appropriate level for your body and keep away from pain.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more
balanced.

September is approaching fast and when I went for my run this morning the leaves were falling from the trees in our wood (it’s not really ‘our’ as in personal wood, but since living here I always refer to it as our wood!) plus the air definitely has that autumnal feel about it.
I like to do a bit of reminiscing at this time of year, as it brings back such happy memories for me as a child growing up in Quorn. Walks with Mum, gathering the fruit for jams, and preserves from our garden and allotment, the Quorn Fruit and Veg show and Dad trying to out-do his neighbours with the size of his onions. Many happy memories!
September isn’t just about memories though, it also has a ring of new starts about it — new school
terms, being one of them. Kids going to school for the first time which can have an effect on parents and grandparents when involved in daily child care. Older kids heading to university for the first time and leaving space at home for parents to fill. Or it could be that you are starting a new chapter in your life, retirement, travel, moving, careers.
September is certainly a month for memories and changes, memories of the beautiful summer we had this year
which seemed to last forever, and now looking forward to the changes in colours, temperatures, and the feeling of something new starting to happen.

Bank Holiday Monday, so no classes, but there are some classes throughout the rest of the week. Make sure you check that your class is on before you go though...
Book a Catchup/Missing Class
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, want to let us know or would like to book a space in another class instead, just
follow the link to register it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen and your class Coach know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important if you want to book a Catchup — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot
guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchups system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class class Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best and fastest way to let Karen know.
