Last call for our two new Absolute Beginners Courses starting this week in Loughborough, on these days and times:
- Wednesday, at 11.30am
- Thursday, at 8pm
Our Absolute Beginners Courses are simply the best way to start Pilates. They are one-off, six-week courses, which get you to the level where you can move to any of our regular matwork classes around the local area. Absolute Beginners
classes are small-group (a maximum of 10 participants), with everyone in the class at exactly the same beginners level as you, and moving through the Pilates principles and exercises at exactly the same rate. This means your class Coach can and does work with everyone within the class to make sure everyone gets the very best results. If this wasn't enough, you receive our fantastic 52-page full-colour book of each week's exercises, along with a weekly video of each week's class, so you can
practise your Pilates whenever you want at home between classes.
There's a couple of spaces in each class left, so if you know anyone who would like to join us for the best introductory Pilates experience, please let them know. Reply to this Newsletter for further details and to book. Following these two, there will be no further Absolute Beginners Courses this year.
Pelvic Floor
Workshop
If you have a pelvic floor...
Hint — you have, man or woman!
…there's a couple of spaces left in Cara's upcoming
Pelvic Floor Workshop, starting at 10.30am Saturday 10 November in Loughborough.
Cara's Pelvic Floor Workshops are always a hit with everyone, and you get such a lot from them. Apart from an increased knowledge and understanding of pelvic floor issues, the exercises Cara gives are perfect to help with your pelvic floor for now and for the future. Here's a quote from a past participant:
I am so pleased I went
to the workshop. Over the years I have tried a number of things to improve my situation and have never felt able to effectively do pelvic floor exercises. The workshop was more helpful than anything I have done before and from the first week I felt more confident that I was doing the exercises correctly. ED
1 in 3 women, and 1 in 10 men have an issue with their pelvic floor, and pelvic floor problems are the second most common reason for people
having to go into care homes. Cara can help you take back control.

I hope this week brings you joy and hope, keep your
body moving and keep focusing on the good ... one step at a time.

I am fully aware that some of the JTP family have been going through some challenging times with your movement, due to either injury, illness or surgery.
I also know the effects this can have on our emotional health, when we are feeling
we are either stuck or cannot do things that we have been routinely able to do previously.
So I am sharing a short, seated routine this week which focuses on movement of the pelvis, working on maintaining function of the deep stabilising muscles of the pelvic floor, plus mobility and work for the upper back to maintain posture. All you will need is a chair (a dining chair is absolutely fine or the chair at your desk) plus two tennis
balls.
Sitting on tennis balls can be a little bit tender initially, so don’t over do the work, and keep away from pain.
Enjoy!
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

Hi everyone — it's Jenny here, taking over Jane's chair for Your Whole Self, with some of my personal thoughts for you.
I have spent the half-term break seeking treatment for neck and shoulder problems and trying some
new exercise classes. What I have really noticed is that as a participant or sometimes as a client you are often told what to do, but not always told the how to do it.
As we in the JTP family see it, the how is vitally important as it ensures that, as individuals, we benefit fully from all the great things Pilates can bring to our health and wellbeing. It also forms a bond of trust and respect between Coach and client. When we
encourage and coach the how, you feel the benefits, sometimes during or straight after class as well as in the long term. Our aim with this, of course, is that you stay with us and encourage family and friends to join us as we continue to show you how to make the most of your Pilates practise.
The principles of Pilates are concentration, centering, control, precision, breathing and flow … this is the how for us at JTP as
Coaches that we try to bring to you whether in a matwork class, Reformer class or one-to-one sessions. The how is the progressions and alternatives that we offer, and why we encourage you to work to the best of your ability and encourage best practice.
So next time you are in class and a new exercise is demonstrated … never think that you can’t achieve your goals because — although we may tell you what to do — we will always also tell you
how.

All classes — matwork and Reformer — are running as planned, all in their correct venues, at the correct days and times — with the exception of Saturday 10 November Quorn class, which is in the Old School this week (as we've been
kicked out of the Village Hall again!).
Book a Catchup/Missing Class
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, want to let us know or would like to book a
space in another class instead, just follow the link to register it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen and your class Coach know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important if you want to book a Catchup — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only
give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchups system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class class Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of
registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best and fastest way to let Karen know.
