It's great to be back … and I am really excited about the new year and the timetable of classes we are going to be delivering.
Most importantly, I wish to welcome a new member to the Jane Thomas Pilates Team, Anna Munday.
Anna is taking over the Tuesday evening classes at Rosebery Street Medical Centre, Loughborough. Anna is a qualified PT and did her Pilates Level 3 training with First Class Pilates (that is, with me). She is also a qualified Diet and Nutritionist. Although she is relatively new to teaching group Pilates classes she has been using Pilates techniques to enhance her PT clients’ fitness programmes since qualifying in 2017.
Anna will bring her own individuality, strengths and inspiration to the JTP team, and I for one am really excited about this and know that you will all welcome her into the JTP Family in 2019.
Those of you attending Monday’s sessions at Quorn Village Hall and at Rosebery Street Medical Centre will know by now that Sue Baxter is your new teacher. Sue has been with the JTP team for two years now and has been successfully teaching our classes at Gorse Covert Community Centre, until the timetable change at the end of December.
Reformers
We have a couple of spaces in the following small group Reformer classes:
- Tuesday 6-7pm
- Wednesday 8.00-9.00am & 9.00-10.00am
If you are interested in trying these classes, the Tuesday evening class is aimed at providing challenge for people who have been doing Pilates for a while, so have Pilates experience. The Wednesday morning classes haven’t been running for quite as long and have proven to be a great introduction to taking your Pilates to the next level. Reply to this Newsletter for more details.
Have a great week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling good.

If you feel you have been a little bit lacking in exercise over the festive break, this week's 10 minute routine will help you to really get back into your Pilates.
This is a quick blast into the deep abdominal muscles, and if you are relatively new to Pilates, work at the appropriate level for your body.
You can always revisit previous Newsletters and previous exercises of the week to find something that will work for you and remember to keep away from pain.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

At this time of year we can get a little short of Vitamin D. This crucial vitamin comes from red meat — particularly offal, as well as oily fish, egg yolks, and of course sunshine, which is why at this time of year our supply can often run low because we have less hours of daylight, never
mind sunshine!
When our supplies run low, our bones, joints, and muscles are affected. Bones can soften and fracture more easily, osteoporosis can develop and muscle weakness can be the result.
So when and if we get brighter days at this time of year, we really do need to take advantage of them and get out and about, particularly if your diet is a little short when it comes to liver and onions!
So make it a priority when we get some winter sunshine — get your body moving and get out to soak it up and top up those Vitamin D levels.

Book a Catchup/Missing Class
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, want to let us know or would like to book a
space in another class instead, just follow the link to register it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen and your class Coach know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important if you want to book a Catchup — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only
give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchups system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class class Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of
registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best and fastest way to let Karen know.
