Absolute Beginners
We hope to run a brand-new Absolute Beginners Course in Sileby, on Saturday 23 February. Our Absolute Beginners Courses are one-off, six-week courses that aim to get everyone to the level where they can move into any of our regular classes (in Sileby or elsewhere) following the Course. If you're interested — or know someone who might be — please just reply to this Newsletter to get further information and to book. Only 10 spaces of course, so don't delay!
Reformers
We just have two spaces left in our weekly small group Reformer classes, both on Thursdays — one in Cara's 8am class, another in Mary's 7pm class. If you are interested in joining either group, or you want to know more about our Reformer classes please reply to this Newsletter.
Valentine's Class — Final Chance
There's just a couple of mats left for our Valentine's Day class, on Thursday 14 February at 6pm in Rosebery Street Medical Centre. This is your absolutely last chance to book your and your partner's spaces in this Special Free Event to be taught by Jane. Come and join the romantic fun — reply to this Newsletter to book.

As I attended a training workshop on Hip and Knee replacements at the weekend, and as we have quite a few people in our classes with hip and knee issues, I thought I would use this week’s Newsletter to remind you of a brilliant little set of exercises which will work key muscle groups in the maintenance of hip and knee health.
I love to learn and it is vital that as a Pilates Coach I continue with my professional development in order to make sure I can continue to help those of you who attend our classes. It is always good to have confirmed that what I already do is good practice and recognised as such. This week's video I first shared early in 2018. It shows simple movements that can be done in the comfort of your own home and won’t take up too much of your time, but will be worth the investment if you are
suffering with hip or knee issues.
If you feel unsure or need further clarification please do not hesitate to contact me or check with your class Coach. With every Exercise Of The Week keep away from pain and work at the appropriate level for your body.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

My week has been about continuous professional development. I am currently doing a refresher programme regarding Pilates for the older adult, and then at the weekend I attended a training workshop with a Physio/Pilates Coach about Hip and Knee replacements.
Because I have been working in the fitness industry for 26 years, and have been teaching Pilates since 1999, I see it as my responsibility to make sure I keep up to date with current thinking and research, but also that I continue to add to what I know and how I teach to ensure that people who come to me for advice about exercise and how to keep their bodies moving get the best possible service. I sometimes do have to step out of my comfort zone, as there may be some very different ways of
thinking, often much younger learners in the training groups, and I always think everyone is going to know more than me, but because I see the importance of not standing still and becoming complacent I push myself to continue to do it.
I have always taken my responsibility to keep moving forward with my teaching extremely seriously and I see how this continues into every day life. Learning new skills, having new experiences, trying new things is how we can keep energy levels high, keep our brains tested, keep motivated, keep living our life.
This week therefore if any of you are having doubts about trying something new, going somewhere different, don’t give into that voice of fear which is stopping you from trying, don’t be afraid of being an Absolute Beginner in anything that you do, just go and do it.

Book a Catchup/Missing Class
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, want to let us know or would like to book a
space in another class instead, just follow the link to register it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen and your class Coach know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important if you want to book a Catchup — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only
give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchups system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class class Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of
registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best and fastest way to let Karen know.
