Not much news this week as it's still our half-term break. However, just a reminder that we are starting brand new Beginners Reformer Pilates classes in March. They are planned on these days and times:
- Tuesday evenings 7pm-8pm
- Friday mornings 7.30am-8.30am
- Friday mornings 9.15am-10.15am
If you don't know what a Reformer is, it is — quite simply — the very best way you can do Pilates. The inventor of the Pilates method himself — Joseph Pilates — actually designed his method around use of a Reformer; the equipment he invented himself during the First World War while he was in Knochaloe Internment Camp in the Isle of Man. Group matwork Pilates only came afterwards in later years as a cut-down method of introducing Pilates to large groups, and Reformer Pilates remains as the
original and still the best way to do Pilates.
Our Reformer classes are for only 4 participants, so you really do get highly personalised classes that are uniquely great value for money. We know how popular Reformer Pilates is — we already have 13 Reformer classes running and they are all fully booked — so these three new classes will allow another 12 of you to bring the Reformer into your lives.
These are Beginners Reformer classes, so are ideal for those who already come to matwork Pilates classes and just want to increase the benefits Pilates brings, but they are also great for anyone who has not done Pilates before. Classes are already filling up and there's just a few spaces left, so please don't hesitate to book your space before they all go.
We have an information page about Reformer Pilates on the website here, which includes all details about how to enrol, the timetable, and the Reformer itself.

Classes This Week
Although we're still in our half-term break, as mentioned in last week's Newsletter we still have a number of classes running this week — due to having to postpone some classes previously, or because of May Day Bank Holiday Monday. Classes running this week are on the Calendar below.
My WI Talk
Thank you to the Quorn Evening Women's Institute for inviting me to give a talk last week. I really enjoyed the evening and just wanted to say thank you for making me feel welcome and putting me at my ease.
Have a great week folks, keep looking, moving and feeling good.

A short Pilates routine for you to practise every day — particularly if you don’t have a regular class this week.
This routine was part of an online programme that was available at the end of 2017. The programme was a mix of Pilates and HIIT workouts aimed at keeping the body active. Work at the appropriate level for your own body and keep away from pain.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

Over the weekend I attended a training and development day as part of my ongoing continuous professional development. The programme looked at mindset, nutrition, movement and it also looked at how to run a business within the world of fitness, but the big news for me was briefly meeting Eddie Hall the World's Strongest Man of 2017.
It was particularly great to meet him as he is one of my son’s heroes and at last after 26 years I have managed to impress my boy. I even got some weight lifting advice from Eddie that I could pass on to George.
So this week I'm just giving a shout out to all parents that occasionally we do things that do make our kids sit up and say “Wow Mum, that's amazing!”

It is the second week of our half-term break, so most classes are NOT running. However... there ARE some classes, so please check to make sure you don't miss your class if it's one that is running this week.
Next week — beginning 4 March — all classes return to the normal full timetable.
Book a Catchup/Missing Class
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, want to let us know or would like to book a
space in another class instead, just follow the link to register it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen and your class Coach know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important if you want to book a Catchup — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only
give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchups system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class class Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of
registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best and fastest way to let Karen know.
