Easter has always been my favourite time of year, I absolutely love it. I think it is because it is usually the start of Spring and this feels like its time for something new.
Brighter days, lighter nights, I had my son at Easter and he will be 26 years old on 15th April (today in fact), so it always feels happy and my heart always feels light.
These feelings bring out the best in me.
I feel more positive about everything, about what I can do and what I can achieve. I also recognise that these feelings of joy are all coming from within me, and although it is probably helped by the external environment changing ie, spring flowers, sunshine, blue skies — it is definitely coming from within.
Getting connected with this inner joy can truly feel like it changes your life, and can make everything seem like a better place.
Self care to ensure that we stay in touch with this inner joy is vital. Finding time for yourself, being kind to yourself, treating yourself with respect and understanding through the darker more difficult times will help to cultivate your inner joy.
I am learning to do more of this, but I still find it challenging, the Easter break will definitely help me to tune into this, then I need to work out how to keep it going and get me through some of those darker moments.
So folks, find time for yourself, do the things you love, understand yourself and let yourself off the hook, and over this Easter break tune in to your inner joy.
