FIRST WEEK OF SUMMER TIMETABLE DONE!
I am away from teaching for a couple of weeks, but that doesn’t mean Pilates has to stop — there are still lots of classes happening on the Summer Timetable, and you just have to keep checking the Calendar (link at the bottom) to see when the classes are running and at which venue.
Remember — if you can't make one of your four regular classes,
just book a Catchup class using the Catchup form (link at the bottom).
As we head into the summer, the JTP team are already planning for the future. So we have a couple of announcements of forthcoming classes/workshops that may be of interest.

First, Tanya will be running a Summer Reformer Course in our Loughborough Studio, starting on Wednesday 21 August at 10am. If you've ever wondered about what the Reformer is, how it can help your Pilates, and would like to give it a try, this 6-week introduction is a great way to find out. Reply with your mobile phone number if you'd like further details, and we'll forward it onto Tanya.
Second, Cara has asked me to let you know that a brand new Pilates for Pelvic Floor Health Workshop, will be starting on Friday 13th September, 12.30-1.30pm in Rosebery Street Medical Centre, Loughborough. Keep checking here for further details throughout the following weeks, but for now mark this date in your diary. Reply with your mobile phone number to enquire and we'll forward your enquiry onto Cara.

Over the summer I will be sending out a regular short Pilates routine as the Exercise Of The Week, so that if you are missing your regular class you will still be able to have access to some Pilates. It's very important to me that I am able to continue to care and provide opportunities to keep your body moving, keep it strong and to help with your wellbeing even when I am not seeing you weekly in class.
Here is a little quote from one of my class participants who has already had to miss several of her classes, but has been doing some of my short home workouts:
Hi Jane,
Just done first one — great to be moving at a level I can do
and to hear your voice! Thank you 😄
This week is no different, so I am providing a short routine that will definitely take care of your mobility.
Have a great week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling good.
Jane, Keith and the team xx

This week is a self-care, self-nurturing routine.
It works from seated, side, prone and semi-supine. I do show some alternatives and modifications within the routine, so please work at the appropriate level for your body. Focus on where you are feeling each movement as this is something that can be affected by how you set up to perform the exercise.
Enjoy!
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

I want to take this opportunity to explain a little about the difference between doing group Pilates classes with us and one-to-one sessions at our Studio.
With all of our classes — because we restrict numbers in our groups — there will always be an element of individual care within classes.
Our Coaches will always take time to discuss specifics with individuals within the group and make sure that within reason, so that it doesn’t detract from the rest of the group, they will adjust and modify to make the exercise/movement more appropriate and safe. However there is always going to be a generic style to the teaching of the class — it's a group class, after all. The Coach may give you homework, but again this will be generically appropriate for the whole group.
One-to-one sessions at our Studio on the other hand are bespoke and specific to the individual. Initially — particularly if working with one of our Biomechanics Coaches — there will involve a screening assessment of the body. This is particularly relevant if there is an ongoing issue that the individual wants to focus on. Typical issues are sciatica, lower back pain, frozen shoulders, rotator cuff injury, knee replacements, hip replacements. Some of our Coaches also specialise in and work
with scoliosis, hypermobility, pelvic floor dysfunction etc. So whatever the issue, and depending on who you work with, it will involve a more specific postural assessment so that we as Pilates Coaches can address the whole body and how we can get it moving in a more effective and efficient way.
Following a Biomechanics screen or postural assessment, the Coach will then prescribe a specific exercise programme. This is where it becomes completely bespoke to the individual’s specific aims. It may involve a provision of videos that help to support the exercises in between one-to-one sessions, it will most definitely involve homework with specific exercises to practise, and it will involve an individual progression programme that can be continued and developed. There is more attention
to detail, there is more attention to barriers that may affect the individual’s success, it is just as it says really in that it is one-to-one training. Very personal, very specific, very prescriptive.
Our one-to-one sessions at the studio can be booked individually with a specific Coach, and each Coach will provide you with the appropriate information.
So if you are feeling that you are doing your class each week, but you want to try a more specific programme because you have some issues that are preventing you from fully benefiting, then one-to-one sessions may be the answer.
Our costs vary depending on the type of programme you choose and what is most appropriate to your goals and expectations.
If you want to find out more information about our Studio one-to-one sessions, then please get in touch by replying to this Newsletter, with your mobile phone number.

It's Week 2 of the Summer Timetable, so not all classes are running. Best to check and make sure your class is on, before you turn up to an empty venue...
Remember, you have four Summer Timetable classes included in your payment. If you will miss any of your allocated Summer Timetable classes, just book a replacement using (1) the standard Catchup link below, (2) the Catchup link at the bottom of any of our emails, or (3) the Catchup link at the bottom of the website.
Book a Catchup/Missing Class
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, want to let us know or would like to book a space in
another class instead, just follow the link to register it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen and your class Coach know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important if you want to book a Catchup — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us
one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchups system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class class Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering
your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best and fastest way to let Karen know.
