We are heading into the last part of August, and therefore coming towards the end of our Summer Timetable. Personally I am not teaching this week, but happy to say that some of the team are and so make sure you check the timetable for your regular class.
APOLOGIES TO EVERYONE FOR LATE CANCELLATION OF FRIDAY NIGHT CLASSES AT HATHERN ON 9 AUGUST … A NEW DATE WILL BE ARRANGED IN DUE COURSE
If you are really missing your class because you have already completed your own class's Summer Timetable, you can always get in touch with the Office and buy some extras. Get in touch with Karen and she will guide you with spaces and book you in — just follow the email link here
Back Care Workshops
Don’t forget we have some amazing opportunities with JTP to be investing in your wellbeing — for example, the first two Back Care Workshops starting early on Friday mornings in September are currently fully booked, but if you are still interested please do get in touch because there is the possibility of adding more to the timetable. Reply to this Newsletter, with your mobile number, to get more details
Back Care Workshops are being Coached by Gem, who is the Performance Sport Soft Tissue Therapist at Loughborough University. You will not be in safer hands.
Pre/Post Natal Pilates
I also want to bring to your attention that Zoe — who is the latest member to the JTP Coaching team — is our Pre/Post Natal Specialist and is happy to talk to anyone who may find they need this highly specialised care with their Pilates practise. Apart from being one of our top-notch Pilates Reformer Coaches, Zoe is also available for one-to-one sessions at our Studio. Just reply to this Newsletter, with your mobile number, to get more details of how she can help you.
The Pilates Reformer
Exercising on the Pilates Reformer has really helped me out personally over the last two months, giving me back full movement in my knee following an injury earlier this year and ongoing issues with arthritis. I can only recommend it fully as an invaluable tool to keep strong, fit, and healthy.
If you think you would like to give the Reformer a try Tanya still has a space available in her Reformer Summer Special Course which starts 21st August.
If you have any doubts about trying the Reformer, here is a quote from one of our class participants:
Loved it, great pace and feel, it will benefit me long term.

Pelvic Floor Workshop
If your pelvic floor is causing you concern then Cara’s Pelvic Floor Health Workshops may be what you need, and she still has a couple of spaces in the sessions due to start on 13th September.
If you are unsure then here is a quote from someone who attended Cara's last Workshop:
After deliberating for a while I decided to attend one of Cara’s Pelvic Floor Workshops. I deliberated because I wasn’t sure what to expect and I feared the worst as I knew I had an issue in this area and wasn’t sure that I wanted what I suspected confirming.
It was with some trepidation that I went along to the first class but was put at ease by the friendly informal approach — and drawing our pelvic floor was hilarious! There was a serious message however and we set to work and learned the correct way to do the exercises that Cara gave us… The class was small and informal and as the weeks passed we became comfortable talking about our pelvic floor problems in a class situation.

Both of these extra activities are being organised independently of JTP, so therefore you can contact Tanya or Cara directly to book your space, or reply to this Newsletter with your mobile number for us to forward your request.
Keep moving, feeling and looking good.

A lovely routine to wake up and energise the body in the mornings. As with every Exercise Of The Week, work at the appropriate level for your body and keep away from pain.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

The great thing about Joseph Pilates was how before his time he truly was. He talked about the pollution in the atmosphere and described it as soot-saturated air making the point that this was not ideal for physical fitness as it handicapped our breathing on a daily basis. Joseph also recognised the increasing stress of working life, and how important it is to lead a healthy life and that we participate in activities that we enjoy and bring relief from the mental strain and
physical fatigue of the daily work routine. He included things like spending time with family and friends and used the word play to mean pleasurable pastimes and pleasurable living. This was a way to improve our wellbeing and making us more cheerful, contented and relaxed.
This was all included in his book Return to Life Through Contrology and Your Health originally written in 1934 and updated in 1945. When you read this it is such a current school of thought in terms of our health and wellbeing, so it just reminds me of how innovative he was in his thinking and philosophy on life.
How different it feels when we can get out into the fresh air for a walk whether it be with friends, walking a pet or alone to find some peace and quiet.
It is also a time to take note of everything around us, and gives us time to switch off from the daily routine.
It is so important to our vitality, wellbeing, physical and mental health to make time to play — in whatever format that may take.
Have a great week, and find some time to play…

It's Week 6 of the Summer Timetable, so not all classes are running. Best to check and make sure your class is on, before you turn up to an empty venue...
Remember, you have four Summer Timetable classes to take over the summer, included in your payment. If you will miss any of your allocated Summer Timetable classes, just book a replacement using (1) the standard Catchup link below, (2) the Catchup link at the bottom of any of our emails, or (3) the Catchup link at the bottom of the website.
Book a Catchup/Missing Class
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, want to let us know or would like to book a space in
another class instead, just follow the link to register it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen and your class Coach know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important if you want to book a Catchup — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us
one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchups system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class class Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering
your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best and fastest way to let Karen know.
