Classes are back this week after our half term break, and although some of you will still be on half-term break depending on where you live in the area, most of us are back to normal this week. So I look forward to seeing you in class with renewed enthusiasm as we head towards ... well, I’m not going to mention it just yet!
Absolute Beginners Workshops
Our latest Absolute Beginners Workshop starts this week with Anna in our Loughborough Studio, and this will provide 5 people with a fantastic introduction to the foundations of Pilates. I am very proud of this Workshop as I believe it provides a great opportunity for those who attend to really understand the Pilates technique. It’s a short course and because there are only 5 people in the session it means that the teaching is very individual and specific and those attending have the time to
ensure they fully understand and are able to practise the basics. Completion of this course then enables those people to move into one of our regular timetabled classes. I love to welcome new people to our Studio and to our classes so I hope you have the best experience.
Although this particular Absolute Beginners Workshop is already fully booked, please just reply to this Newsletter, with your mobile phone number, if you would like more details about Workshops, and to know when our next one is planned.
New Reformer Classes
It seems that our Reformer classes in our Studio are ever more popular so, trying to keep up with demand, we are again planning more classes. Nothing finalised yet, but we are considering classes on Tuesday mornings (perhaps early — 7.30am or 8am, as well as later in the morning), and Wednesday lunchtimes. The Reformer, and our Reformer classes, allow you to boost your Pilates to a level that matwork Pilates simply can't, so if you would like to see for yourself what the hype is all about,
just reply to this Newsletter with your mobile number for details.
We also have an unexpected space coming up in one of our existing Beginners Reformer classes (Wednesday 6pm), so just reply with your mobile number if you'd like to have details about joining, and have the chance of a Free Taster class. Likewise, there is also a space in our Thursday evening (non-Beginner) classes.
Have a week full of happiness everyone,
Jane, Keith and the team xx

Every week I think long and hard about what to include in this section of the Newsletter, and I look back over all the videos I have recorded.
Sometimes if I feel my teaching of certain exercises has evolved over the years I like to update the video. This week I am looking back and finding an oldie but goldie in my opinion.
I hope you enjoy it ... even if you are grabbing a cup of tea and a biscuit, sitting down and just putting it on to watch ...!
As with every Exercise Of The Week, work at the appropriate level for your body and keep away from pain.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

Happiness, happiness the greatest gift that I possess, I thank the Lord that
I’ve been blessed with more than my share of happiness ...
...the words from Mr Ken Dodd!!
I have been thinking about happiness a lot over the last couple of weeks, mainly because I have been fortunate to have just had a lovely holiday in Cyprus, and where we stay brings me a huge amount of it.
So I started to think about and analyse what makes us happy and if we can do anything to help our own happiness and potentially increase it. Well of course, this sounds obvious, there is a lot that we can do to improve our levels of happiness. Spend more time with people who make us happy, do more of the stuff that brings us happiness ... but are there other things we can build on to improve our happiness on a daily basis, on an hourly basis?
Well here is something we can do — we can mark an event.
If we mark an event in our life it builds a memory, and when we make memories that then becomes an experience, and when we remember and think about it, we feel happier. We create happy memories.
So for example, if you have been working on a huge project, on completion of that project you should mark the completion with something that makes you happy ... sometimes the relief of completion doesn’t allow for happiness, but actually if you have been working on something for a long time you should feel happy when it is completed, so mark it, make it an event.
A friend of mine — who had been writing a book which had taken 2 years of hard work — finished the book, and bought herself a chair. Now I realise that to some people this would make you just think “Oh ...!” But she had been looking at this beautiful chair for a long time, and now every time she sits in this chair she will remember the feeling of completion of her book and this turns the feeling of relief into a happy memory.
The marking of the event doesn’t need to be big, it just needs to be done.

Book a Catchup/Missing Class
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, want to let us know or would like to book a space in
another class instead, just follow the link to register it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen and your class Coach know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important if you want to book a Catchup — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us
one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchups system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class class Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering
your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best and fastest way to let Karen know.
