Last week was a busy one as
lots of the groups have a little Christmas celebration after class, either by heading out for coffee and mince pies, or even bringing them to class. This is one of the fantastic things about teaching community classes — how much everyone comes together for the social side of exercising together and sharing this experience. I love to see it and hear about it. It is also an opportunity for us Coaches to actually chat and and catch up with news about everyones lives that we don’t always get a
chance to chat about after class. I have found out all sorts of things … it's brilliant.

Here is the latest news about our Wellbeing Day we are arranging for you all on Saturday 4th January. We now have a timetable of sessions for you to book into:

There will be some light refreshments throughout the day, and our Coaches will be available to chat about their speciality and/or Pilates in general. Plus — we will have a home-type Pilates Reformer available, along with a Pilates Wunda Chair for you to come and play on. If it's anything like the last time we held a Wellness Day, it promises to be an absolutely great time for all. We can't wait to see you there.
The event will be held at Rosebery Street Medical Centre, Loughborough.
* This is a Breast Cancer Post Operative Rehabilitation Pilates taster session — available to those who are at least 3 months post-op and not presently undergoing tissue expansion. Tanya will also be available all morning on 4 January to discuss her upcoming Breast Cancer Post Operative Rehabilitation Course.
Have a great week folks — keep looking, moving and feeling good … now where did I put the receipts for the 12 candles ????? (you'll need to read below to know what I mean... haha).
Jane, Keith and the team xx
This week I am sharing the last 4 days of my 12 days of Christmas Pilates. Over the last three weeks I have shown one exercise for each of the twelve days — so check last week's Newsletter for Days 5–8, and the week before for Days 1–4. Also... look out for next week’s Newsletter where I put them all altogether into a single routine that you can then work on throughout the holiday period and keep your body moving.
On the 9th day of Christmas my true love sent to me —
9 Saws a sawing, 8 Double Leg Stretches, 7 Shoulder bridges, 6 Single Leg Stretches, 5 Cat Stretches, 4 single leg curls, 3 swan dives, 2 swimming legs and a Pilates Roll down into Push up…
You get the picture…
On the 10th day of Christmas my true love sent to me —
On the 11th day of Christmas my true love sent to me —
On the 12th day of Christmas my true love sent to me —
Have fun, and work at the appropriate level for your body.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.
This week I realise I am suffering with Shopping Bulimia… in that every time I go to the shops I am seeing and purchasing things which I think will make wonderful gifts. Of course, I get them home then realise I have overbought, overspent, and now need to think about
if I can take anything back...
I think I get a bit carried away with the atmosphere in the shops, all decked out for the festive season, music is playing, there is lots of sparkle, lots of glitter and so on, so I have candles galore, Christmas mugs, handmade soaps, tins of Christmas biscuits, Christmas straws — recyclable, hat and glove sets, scarves, bath bombs, shower bombs, notebooks, Christmas coasters — it goes on and on…
I do have lots of people who I want to treat at this time of year, but it is so easy to get carried away with all the lovely things available.
What I have to remind myself is that Christmas is about more than the gift. When I used to ask my Mum what she would like as a present she would always say: seeing you, spending more time with my family is the best gift I could have.
And actually — for a lot of people — this is the perfect gift. So although we might get frustrated with our families from time to time throughout the year, if you are lucky enough to be able to spend time with them do it, don’t waste it, be thankful for it.

There's only a handful of matwork classes this week — replacements for classes that had been cancelled/postponed due to illness, weather, flooding etc. Just check to make sure your class is/isn't running.
There are no Reformer classes this week.
And... it's our xmas break next week, and the week after. All classes return week beginning 6 January. Have a great break everyone!
Book a Catchup/Missing Class
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, want to let us know or would like to book a space in another class instead, just
follow the link to register it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen and your class Coach know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important if you want to book a Catchup — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot
guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchups system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class class Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best and fastest way to let Karen know.
