The new year has started, and we welcomed 2020 with our Wellbeing Day yesterday, where JTP provided the opportunity for some of the Coaches who teach with us to showcase some of their specific skills.
From the JTP perspective the Wellbeing Day was a free day for all — aimed at showing my appreciation to everyone who attends our classes regularly throughout the year, my way of saying Thank You by providing opportunities to try different things that have a Pilates connection but mainly an overall health and wellbeing connection.
Our Coaches ran 6 specific free sessions for you all during the Day according to their specialities: Pelvic Floor Health and Pilates (Cara); Back Care Pilates (Gem); Hog Pilates (Traudi); Breast Cancer Post Operation Rehabilitation (Tanya); Silver Swans (Zoe); and Mindful Meditation (Wendy). All sessions were well attended and very well received (some photos below).
Sorry if you missed out this time — keep checking this Newsletter each week for future events throughout the next year. This Newsletter is the only place we advertise our events.
I think we are all looking forward to getting back into a routine and returning to class. It doesn’t matter how well-intentioned we are, the Christmas holidays always provide an excuse to sit back and relax. So here we go back into a regular Pilates flow.
Talking of which … the Exercise Of The Week this week (see below) is a great way to start.
Have a great week getting back into regular Pilates — keep looking, moving and feeling good.

This week I am sharing a Pilates snack … something that can be fitted in at any time during the day, anywhere.
So if you are at work, and this has involved sitting at a desk or simply being static, you can take a few minutes and just complete this short sequence of movement that will wake up your gluteals, give you strength in your upper body and practice the Pilates principles of balance, alignment and stability.
Enjoy … and let's get our bodies moving with intention to keep this going throughout the year. Take your Pilates snack whenever you can.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

Talking of snacks, there are lots of ways that we can give ourselves healthy snacks throughout the day, throughout the week, throughout life. And I am actually not talking food snacks here — but health snacks.
For example, the sequence of movement in this week’s Exercise Of The Week is just a short movement sequence to help maintain strength and mobility, but also just moving like this in the middle of the day can affect our whole mood as we continue about our daily business.
Here's some other health snack suggestions:
- Switching off the brain — we can take a moment throughout the day to simply step outside and get 5 minutes of fresh air, particularly if we have been stuck indoors with false lighting and central heating, step outside and practice some breathing … just a snack
- Time for me — we can take a short break to read a few pages from our book … it doesn’t have to be a whole book, just a few pages … just a snack
- Working on our balance, why not stand on one leg to clean your teeth, swapping half way through — two minutes to clean teeth, one minute on one leg, one minute on the other … just a snack
- Clearing the mind of clutter — take 5 minutes to write a list of priorities for the day — what has to be done, what is least important and could wait … just a snack
- Keeping perspective — take five minutes to be thankful for everything good in your life, write it down and stick it on your wardrobe door or desk top — just a snack.
I am sure there are lots of things you can think of that could give you a health snack throughout the day, something that doesn’t need you to invest great chunks of time that might feel too much, just short bursts that bring about a smile on your face or give your heart a feeling of light and breezy … health snacks.

Book a Catchup/Missing Class
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, want to let us know or would like to book a space in another class instead, just
follow the link to register it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen and your class Coach know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important if you want to book a Catchup — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot
guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchups system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class class Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best and fastest way to let Karen know.
