At this time of year, we're often not as active as we might otherwise be... The weather outside is frightful, and the fire is so deli... No? Isn't it time for a song? You know me. Always first to sing...
But you know exactly what I mean.
When it's miserable outside we tend not to exercise as much. And the first thing that happens is we stiffen up. Usually in our backs.
The Exercise Of The Week this week is a great little routine to give our upper backs some love. It's only about 12 minutes long, so doesn't take up much of your time. And what's more, your upper back will thank you.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

Wow what a week ... so much affecting my mental health and emotional wellbeing, all starting probably from the week before when I was feeling physically ill but continued to teach, but ending up with me having to cancel the first half of the week.
It was the return of the cold/cough virus that has been hanging around for many people, in the wings, making us feel a little under the weather, then feel ok again, and then boom ... knocks us off our feet! And it certainly did knock me off my feet.
I recognised that not only did I need to rest to ensure I could see off the virus, but also I needed to step back and reassess things. So actually being too ill to teach forced me to take some time. One of the main things I did was think about the things that really relax me, the things that make me totally switch off from work. I thought about some of the things that my friends and class participants do like crafts, music, art, pottery the things that aren’t just about movement and exercise as
I already do lots of this. So I have started to search out some things that really take me away from anything work related. I am going to write a personal mini manifesto to help me plan and prepare for more relaxation and time out so that I don’t always feel like I am working. I am promising to myself to let me off the hook and do things that aim to give me time to relax, time to identify what it feels like not to be working and do more of that.
I hope if you have been suffering with the same virus that you are on the mend and shaking it off. Don’t try to battle through — just take the time to rest and get better.

Book a Catchup/Missing Class
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, want to let us know or would like to book a space in another class instead, just
follow the link to register it. Our Glamourous Assistant Karen runs the Catchups system, and this link is the quickest, most direct means (it's even faster than emailing her!) of letting Karen and your class Coach know.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and — most important if you want to book a Catchup — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot
guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchups system relies on knowing when spaces will occur.
Finally, please don't just tell your class class Coach you will be missing a class, as your Coach is not aware of Catchups spaces and has no means of registering your space. Karen needs to know, and the link here (it's also at the bottom of our website too) is the best and fastest way to let Karen know.
