HAPPY EASTER
I hope you are enjoying your Easter weekend, full of sunshine and blue skies and goodness me how good does it feel to be able to be outside, albeit in just our garden, and feeling the heat of the sun on our faces and feeling the brightness of our days as they get longer?
I have a guest writer for this week's YOUR WHOLE SELF — my son George and I were chatting and I was laughing about my counting skills as a Pilates teacher and how often in class, participants start to say things like "please can we stop now .." Anyway on the back of this conversation see George's take on the ability of Pilates teachers to count and how they count.
Thank you everyone who has joined in with our online classes over the last couple of weeks. We have had some fabulous feedback and we are really looking forward to continuing with these programmes. Please feel free to repeat them as many times as you like as all the links to recordings of those classes are in our EXERCISE OF THE WEEK section (see below).
This week I have decided to have a mini break from teaching, as the last few weeks have felt quite overwhelming. I want to be able to provide a proper timetable of online classes as we move forward, and therefore I need some time to concentrate on this. However, you don't need to stop because all the recordings of last week's classes and the week's before are available. (See EXERCISE OF THE WEEK this week with the links to last week's classes — including Tanya's and links to all our
previous weeks' Newsletters are available below).
In next week's Newsletter I will have a timetable of classes for you.
Have a great week folks, stay safe, and please do enjoy as many online classes as you can.

YOUR WHOLE SELF
There is a secret in Pilates, something that is rarely mentioned amongst the teacher Bourgeoisie. While it is not kept secret, when it is brought to our attention it is nonchalantly laughed off. There are occasionally attempts made by the student proletariat to get confessions from the teacher bourgeoisie, although these are fruitless in yielding a confession, however they also fail to yield a denial.
What am I talking about? Why it is the teacher bourgeoisie’s counting during exercise of course. How is it that an exercise of supposedly 10 seconds can feel as if it lasts for 20 or more? Is it the exertion, playing tricks with the minds of the student proletariat? While that may be the belief of those who aren’t in the know, thanks to a thorough investigation the truth can now be revealed. The teacher Bourgeoisie, in whom we put our trust and faith, count ... slowly.
That’s right, in a deliberate attempt to wear their proletariat students down (literally on the floor), the teacher bourgeoisie are counting slower than normal. What is possibly more alarming, is this does not apply to a select few of the teacher bourgeoisie but is universal. Indeed it stems all the way from the top. That’s right — it was the founding tzar Joseph Pilates who first instilled this practice as part of his hedonistic tastes for exploiting the student proletariat. As such it has
been kept on by the Pilates bourgeoisie in order to retain their power, and keep the student proletariat down.
But no more I say, we the student proletariat must revolt against this heinous practice and stand up (off the ground) and throw off the oppression of the teacher Bourgeoisie once and for all.
