It may only be February but I want to give you some advance notice of my March Madness Pilates Challenge — this will be a 30 day challenge … yes, I know there are 31 days in March, but 30 is a rounder number!
I will be putting together a calendar full of Pilates programmes for you to enjoy and set yourself the challenge of including some Pilates in your life for 30 days.
I am really excited about this and can’t wait to start. Pilates sessions will be a mix of time lengths, a mix of focused areas of the body, and will include some relaxation routines too. Some will be live, some will be recorded, but you will be able to commit to 30 days of Pilates movement giving you an opportunity to invest this time in your own health and
wellbeing. More information to follow over the next couple of weeks...
February is the month of love so it felt appropriate to use the quote in the photo here.
This is such a brilliant quote and yet one that I think some might find it makes them feel uncomfortable, difficult, challenging. It gives me mixed feelings, if I’m honest, as in some contexts it can feel a little arrogant and imply selfishness.
However the reason I am using it this week is because I think we all deserve to give ourselves some love. Think about what we have coped with in the last 12 months and how we have adapted our lives, learnt new skills in order to get on with our lives regardless of everything going on around us.
So here are my top five things to do to show yourself some love this week:
- Bake yourself a cake — or make something that you like to eat — I don’t know about you but often when baking or cooking I think about what everyone else would like rather than just what I like
- Book an hour in your diary for at least one day this week when you grab a book, a magazine, or you listen to the music you love or a podcast — find yourself some space where you will have some peace and quiet and don’t let anything disturb you, for just one hour
- Order yourself some fresh flowers — lots of online and delivery of flowers now, but one of my favourites is Bloom and Wild
- Book an afternoon and watch your all time favourite film — lots available on various channels on the TV, plus I bet we all have DVDs that we haven’t watched for ages
- Every day this week make you a priority in your life and make the intention to do one thing that will just be for your own benefit.
It's so important to ensure that you give to yourself, show yourself some love, you really do deserve it, so be your own Valentine xx

There are no limits or conditions attached to the 4-Week Trial — you just get full access to the members area of the jtp.zone website for four whole weeks, for free — just click or tap the link here for details and to enrol for the Trial.
If you like it, and want to stay with us following your 4-Week Trial, it costs just £10 a month for everything — as many classes as you like — again with no limits or conditions. It really is the best value and best quality Pilates you can possibly get.
If you are struggling with your knees at the moment (which often happens during colder/damp weather — particularly if it is arthritis/osteoarthritis related), then this week’s video is an exercise specially looking at strengthening the muscles that support the knee joint.
This is the first part of 3 videos aimed at helping the mobility of the knee joint, parts 2 and 3 will follow in the next couple of weeks.
As with all Exercises Of The Week, work at the appropriate level for your body and keep away from pain.
Have a great week everyone — keep moving, and keeping safe!
Jane xx
