I organised a mindset coaching session last week for the JTP family. I think everyone who attended felt it was interesting to hear Beth Brennan talk about learning to love ourselves from the inside out.
One of the points that resonated with me most is when she pointed out to us that the longest relationship we will ever have is with ourselves ... so imagine being with someone you don’t like very much 24/7. It’s time to start focusing on the things you like and that make you happy. Be conscious about how we spend our time with ourselves.
I will be starting a Mindset Group as this is an area I am consistently working on for myself but also it is something I hear about more and more from the JTP family so I will be sharing the things that help me with you.
One thing I do consistently to help me process my thoughts is journaling. I keep a notebook specifically for this purpose. If I am overthinking or analysing or worrying, or even if I am upset by something said to me, I have started to journal about how it makes me feel. I just start writing and very quickly it starts to come out. Sometimes putting things in
words allow us to process and reflect and possibly understand another perspective. It helps me to recognise what I need, and I also ask myself that if my best friend came to me with this what would I say. The good thing about writing it down is that no-one else needs to know, or be involved, it is purely an exercise for yourself. Sometimes I write a lot, sometimes I just might write three words such as: this feels ****! The point is, it helped me because I actually ended up
laughing!
Anyway, if you are interested in joining my Mindset Group, I will keep you informed here about how it will work soon.
