I posted this quote in the photo here in my social media this week. It seemed to resonate with a lot of people so I wanted to put it in this week's Newsletter for you all to see.
What I love about the quote is how what it says can be applied to all aspects of life — whether it be exercise, diet, lifestyle, or the things that are said to us, and things that we say to others or to ourselves.
It’s easy to apply this to exercise, and how we think about it affects our motivation. For example you start off doing some exercise 3 or 4 times a week and then you find yourself saying things like can I be bovvered! Or, I don’t have time!
Well in the week I was listening to an interview with Sir Tom Jones and he was talking about the importance of exercise in his 80s. He explained that his motivation comes from how he feels post-exercising. At 80 years old he said he felt he could do anything once he had done his exercise, and it definitely helped him to continue to sing and perform which is
his passion.
So if we feel we are flagging, whether it is with exercise or any other area of life, then it is possible to change it, or at least — change how we think about it.
