Hello ,
If you want more Pilates in your week and you want to try other exercise to help to build your fitness and activity levels remember that we have two DVDs available to buy, one has 6
Pilates workouts on it — each workout and routine is about 10 minutes in length so easily fitted in to your day. The second DVD gives you 5 HIIT workouts plus a relaxation routine — and these workouts will help you to burn fat and improve your overall fitness levels. Head to our website here to check them out. These have been produced from the successful
pre-Christmas programme from last year — Countdown to Christmas 2015 — but the workouts are suitable to do all year round. The batch of DVDs we have had printed is going quite quickly, so please get your order in quickly.
Here's an important bit... I also want to celebrate our Catchups system, particularly Karen who does a sterling job running it for us. It is an extremely time-consuming
part of our work, trying to ensure that as many of our class participants as possible never have to miss out on any of their Pilates classes. I am passionate about us facilitating and enabling everyone to consistently practise Pilates, as I feel I want to provide everyone with the opportunity to fully benefit from our classes.
However, it does rely on everyone of you joining in with the system, so I am asking a big favour this week, even if you aren’t able or don’t want
to Catchup a class you may be missing, there are others who do, and who don’t want to miss — so please use the Catchup link at the bottom of every Newsletter to register your missed class. Karen can then allocate that space to those on the waiting list for their Catchup classes. You never know when you might just need or want to Catchup yourself, so please make use of the system. It is simple — you just click on the link and fill in the form that then appears and send. It just couldn’t be easier
— thank you!
Summer Expected... Now that the sun is out at last, I am thinking about our Summer Timetable of classes — this will be finalised over the next two weeks and you will all have access to the timetable and be able to book your classes.
Have a great week, folks — look, move and feel good!

World Pilates Day was celebrated on Saturday 7 May and I did a live Facebook Class at 1pm on the day.
It was great fun to do and I am very pleased to say that 150 people joined in with the class — from all over the world — Florida, Sweden and even Strensham Services
car park, haha!
We actually managed to reach 391 people in all, so even if you didn’t join in with the class, but watched and laughed — thank you for helping me celebrate the day.
Pilates has given me so much joy in my life that it was an honour to celebrate it.

An inverted V stretch (aka pyramid stretch) is this week’s exercise to practise.
Great for strengthening core muscles — which include shoulders and upper
back — but also a great way of stretching the posterior chain of muscles. Practise it at the appropriate level for your body and keep away from pain.
Feel the difference, move differently, and look more balanced.

Whether we are aware of it or not, our unconscious mind will hold on to the last conscious thoughts we give it before falling asleep.
So if those thoughts are angry, unnerved, dejected, hopeless — this is exactly how we will wake up feeling.
Here is an exercise to try to change this. Make this part of your bedtime routine, start to recognise your achievements for the day, and show gratitude to those who have helped or for the experiences that have been provided for you. It is amazing how different you will feel, and how your vitality and general wellbeing will change if you do this with consistency.

All matwork and Reformer classes are running as planned this week. However, the Saturday 9.30am matwork class is in Rosebery Street Medical Centre (and not in Quorn Village Hall).
There is also a
Reformer Extra class on Thursday 11.30am in the Studio. If you're booked for a Catchup or free taster in the Reformer Extra class, please remember.
Book a Catchup
If you know you will have to miss a class in your course for any reason, and
would like to book a space in another class instead, just follow the link to book it.
Simply tell us the class you will miss and —most important — please give us as many alternatives as possible. If you only give us one alternative, we cannot guarantee you will get a Catchup.
Please also let us know if you will miss your class but don't want a Catchup — the whole Catchup system relies on knowing when spaces will
occur.
